That was Howard Cosell who said “look at that little monkey run!” Or something like that very close. Big mistake. One must always be on guard against saying the wrong thing. I am careful when talking to women teachers to say how many classes do they teach and not how many periods. Things like that. Phrasing is very important for the politically correct.

I missed the detail that Gruden said this 10 years ago, not recently. And it was during a player lockout/strike so now I understand what sparked the comment.
Anyway, somebody wants him gone or they would just keep quiet about it instead of feeding it to the media.
