Of all the proposed changes in the tax code, this one actually makes sense to me. It’s ludicrous for identical capital gains for taxpayers in the same tax bracket to be taxed differently just because one of them sold it after buying it himself and the other one sold it after inheriting it. Yes, those damned rich people anyway. How could they dare to be smart enough to prosper far and away more than poor simpletons like you?

What does “rich people” have to do with what I posted?
For what it’s worth, I’ve long been an advocate of a flat tax rate — where “rich” people and “poor” people are subject to the same tax rates.
