The Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Office for Civil Rights issued guidance today explaining that COVID-19 vaccine status would not be covered under Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy rules.
Within its new guidance, HHS reminded that HIPAA does not apply to employer or employment records on the grounds that the rules only apply to HIPAA-covered entities like health care providers conducting electronic transactions.

Clever of them.
Able to violate rights and pronounce that rights aren’t being violated. All at the same time.
HIPPA’s always been a joke. Employers and insurance know EVERYTHING.
OK, then it’s covered under my rules
So little suzie, who used to be little Johnny has privacy rights, but for those who will be terminated from their livelihoods have no rights to privacy. And the hits just keep on coming in 2021
So...it’s just another government inanity, promulgated to cause havoc, waste and bureaucratic growth?
Got it. Biz as usual.
Gee, no one saw that coming/sarc.
Your civil rights are whatever we say they are.

Your Vaccination Status Is Not Covered by HIPPA Rules
For the love of all that is holy: HIPAA
Okay, so if I have or don’t have a vaccination, that is not covered. Fine, I can live with that. But, as I would be claiming medical exemption (plus other exemptions), that would involve my medical records. Those records, that would document, in my case, an enlarged heart, is not any business of my employer or anyone’s beyond me and my doctor. I presume that information is still protected? The company will have to take me on my word? Or will I have to bring a doc note? And, again, does the company really want to know? If I am terminated or laid off later, can they really claim it was not because of my enlarged heart or other medical condition? They cannot unring that bell.
Wouldn’t that be a matter for Congress?

I think you mean HIPPO.
My vaccine status is GFY.
Government health care in practice is proving as competent and friendly as government motor vehicle services and government mail. Just many of us predicted before Obamacare...
This is not true.
There is a wall between employees and employers regarding health care information. The leftists are pulling a fast one.
The 4th Amendment requires government action to apply. It doesn’t apply at all to the actions of private individuals not acting as government agents.
HIPAA was never intended to be the magic talisman that people think that it is.
It only applies to covered entities, and there is no private right of action to enforce HIPAA provisions.
There ARE legal means to fight mandates, but HIPAA/4th Amendment aren’t.
The nursing home my wife works at requires everyone to get tested for TB every year. She’s allergic to the test so she gets a red bump that looks like a positive so she ends up having to get her lungs x-rayed to prove she doesn’t have TB.
