the team suggest the reduction in low-lying clouds over the eastern Pacific may have resulted in the precipitous drop off in brightness. These reductions in cloud cover may be caused by increases in sea surface temperatures, with "likely connections" to the climate crisis.

suggest...may...may...likely. That fourth level speculation is"Settled Science".

Or may be caused by reduced cosmic ray flux. Or may be caused by increased cosmic ray flux. Do they even know? Of course not.

Science, where you can observe a phenomenon for 1500 days on a 4 billion year old planet and determine a catastrophic trend in the observations. These guys are good.

***By watching the moon for two decades, the research team were able to detect small changes in the albedo. Particularly in the last few years, the shine has really come off our Earth. ***

There were plans,in the 1970s, to mine coal, mix it with oil and spray it on the glaciers to absorb more sunlight to prevent THE COMING ICE AGE which was all the weather rage back then!

In fact, excess CO2 may have saved us from freezing!

From POPULAR SCIENCE, Feb 1980..
PS/What’s News ....
page 73
Changing the weather intentionally or otherwise weather modification..(Earth cooling vs Greenhouse effect)

“Do you suppose we can learn enough, soon enough, to pull off a balancing act with the CO2 blanket saving us from another ice age?”

During 9-11, the earth temperature over the US actually went up slightly due to all aircraft being grounded and no contrails blocking the sun.

Is there anything it can’t do?

The data revealed the Earth has dimmed by about half a percent since the late 1990s.

~~~~~
This dimming earth phenomenon would be consistent with the dimming sun observed in recent dimming solar cycles.
It’s carbon.
In the form of trees.
Trees have proliferated over the past 35 years,
which may seem good to you ignorant slobs,
but is actually a dreadful portent of future catastrophe.
So, some faux scientists suspect that atmospheric water could change albedo?
WOW. First year anything STEM mastered.
It should be of some benefit for eventual Moon dwellers — lowers the risk of Earthburn.
Studying it for 10 years and they think they know how much shine is “right”.
This Just In:
Russian Base of Vostok (Antarctic) logged a minimum temperature of -79.4C (-110.9F) today, just 0.6C above the world’s lowest temperature ever recorded in the month of October.
