After they cackled about the shovel ready jobs thing during Obastards term, I took a trip to DC to see my congress critter. They were building and doing construction like nuts there while the rest of the country wasnt getting anything done.
The kickbacks must have been enormous.
What on earth did they get done in DC? Fill some potholes? I remember along GA highways at the time, the RECOVERY ACT signs - CONSTRUCTION - without a sign of any work ever being done! At that time, we could track online what was supposed to get done and what did get done but that went away pronto...PURE CRAZY to think that anything will get done now either EXCEPT for social programs.
I heard something about money in the bill for elderly identity concerns. I’m elderly and I don’t believe I’ve ever been concerned about my identity. Sometimes I do wonder if I’ve been transported to some unidentified country. This sure is not the one I was born into.
Maybe some day we’ll see money allocated for mental issues of congress critters...
Heck, they were doing sidewalks and things like that. The renovations of certain Federal Buildings, etc.
All of them, no doubt, with excessive cost overruns.

BTW, when I was there, I was gong to visit the dept of ag. Couldnt find it as where it was supposed to be was closed.
Nobody knew where the hell it actually was.
I took a picture of the street sign that had Dept of Agriculture with a question mark on it.
