Construction workers irate at mandatory vaccination, shut down of their industry..
Orange vest construction workers marched for a third day in Melbourne, Australia against mandatory vaccination rules, with one video showing a protester profusely bleeding after police cracked his skull.
After authorities shut down the construction industry in Melbourne for two weeks in an effort to force workers to get vaccinated, anger only escalated, with the orange vests seen engaged in numerous clashes with police.
The demonstrations continued for a third day, with numerous clips illustrating how irate the mandatory vaccine rule has made the workers as well as the brutality of the police response.
“My skull is cracked,” said one man who said his name was Kyle Mitchell as he lie bleeding on the ground.

I can watch those all day. The clips of their cars getting all bashed up were pretty good too. Same with the female cops getting kneed to the face.

I have always lived by the underlying belief that police are not my friends. COVID showed me just how right I was. I can’t say what I really think of police on this site of course, because most on FR think police sit on the throne with Jesus for some reason.

A lot of it depends on the location. I lived in MA then Ctrl FL and now rural MO. Big difference here than back on the East coast.

I've pondered this and have concluded that, generally, folks are on the side of the police due to the protective role, i.e., fighting actual crime.
The problem is, as you point out, they are also the enforcers of the will of the state.
Go after those murderers, rapists, and robbers - great!
The further they get from that core is when problems appear.
It's this dual nature of protect/enforce that leads to the public's love/hate relationship with them.
Australian people are dis-armed subjects.

It shows plenty, but not who these personnel are. Who they’re employed by, whom they answer to.
Who exactly are the people abusing Aussie civilians?
Who commands them. Who pays them. Are they even Australian.
