SARATOGA SPRINGS — A group of Black Lives Matter activists were detained by police outside of City Hall on Tuesday night as they were protesting ahead of a City Council meeting.
Beatty said several officers, including Saratoga County sheriff's deputies, came outside and grabbed some of the others who were gathering, bringing them into the police station at the ground floor of City Hall.
Andrew Beatty, a Saratoga Springs resident who often attends BLM events, said they were gathered outside of the Lake Avenue entrance after they heard that activist Lexis Figuereo had allegedly been arrested at a different location on an unknown charge. Figuereo is facing charges in Albany currently, but the Times Union could not verify Tuesday night if he was charged again by a police agency.
The Albany County District Attorney’s office charged Figuereo last week with three counts of attempted assault, a misdemeanor, for allegedly throwing a water bottle at officers. He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. He had previously been charged with unlawful assembly, obstruction of governmental administration and misdemeanor riot in connection with the April incident.
That confrontation led BLM protesters to start an eight-day occupation of Arch Street outside of the police station. The city initially tolerated the encampment before moving in and clearing out the protesters on April 22. Figuereo was arrested that day and charged in connection with the April 14 allegations and inciting a riot.

Leftists are “activists”—anyone on our side is a “right wing extremist”.
The Left chooses their propaganda "words" very carefully, it's part of their strategy.
Please do not repeat their words...
Deconstruct them!
Well, BLM is actually a domestic terrorist group, to be honest.
Now you are talking.
Actually, what BLM means is that white lives do not matter.
They want us dead.
I detect a potential million dollar lawsuit and bureaucratic groveling in the near future…
The city is now referred to as Little Nantucket, exceedingly liberal/leftist. The locals are more conservative and many in Law enforcement are locals. The Sheriff is a MAGA hero. The city chief of police is great, but retiring. He gets it as well. The pols used to be Republican until the NYS and County GOP died on the vine. They originally supported Kasich against Trump, that should tell you everything you need to know.
SS is,”according to wiki”, 1.7% black
what do they have to b!tch about if they aren’t engaging with the law under circumstances of their own making?
no ghettos/Harlem/Watts/Compton/open-air drug markets there...
goto school, work, get married and have a family.
The BLM terrorists are imported from Albany, NY (state Capital) and Schenectady NY, and some from Troy NY.
Care to tell us which state we are in?
THAT makes sense, outside agitprop...
I do admire you ability to comment w/o reading the article, it's a long admired FR trait :)
They want to kill Liberty. They want to kill Freedom. They want to rape the minds of our children, and they will stop at nothing to do it. Nothing. They want to pollute their souls with their seed of death. They gloat over us when they see the spiritual “love bumps” in the souls of the children that they have impregnated with their filth; and they send them home to us attack their parents and our sacred heritage of traditional morality. If these evil ones are not confronted and defeated now, in the public square, it will not end peacefully. Like Islam, once the Left’s cultural hegemony is secure, it will strike and kill without mercy. It always has and it always will.
Saratoga Springs is in New York State, on the thruway north of Albany....
A state of confusion.
Just kicked the thug governor out.
Racing season is over.
Bat’s brother lives there.
New York is a mess.
Black Lives Matter activists detained. Meanwhile the greatest threat to America is white domestic terrorists
Don’t forget the unvaxxed—the mere sight of one of those folks could strike you dead!
