The Weather Underground was done in 1977. Gilbert was still a fugitive, but the robbery was in 1981, and he’d joined in with the Black Liberation Army.

#14. Wrong re the Weather Underground being “done” in 1977. They were on the run but not out of existence. They changed their name to the May 19th Coalition (a mix of WUO communist terrorists and some other Maoists), who joined with the remnants of two black terrorist/cop-killing organizations, the Black Panther Party and the Republic of New Africa. The black groups became the Black Liberation Army and used a bookstore in NY City (believe it was called the Moncada Bookstore or Library), and other underground facilities in the Park Slope area as their bases of operation.

However, the WUO also had its own “white communist/liberal” underground, esp. in Chicago, New York City, possibly Philadelphia, and even in DC. Affinity largely white WUO-styled terrorist groups existed and operated in New England, esp. Massachusetts and as I recall, Connecticut and/or Rhode Island. Vermont may also have been a pass-thru underground railway for their travels to other “safe houses” and terrorist training grounds.

Unfortunately, the Communists in Congress (Rep. John Conyers, Jr.), aided knowingly by the Democrat Party leadership, esp. Rep. Peter Rodino (D-NJ), eliminated (in 1975) the House Internal Security Committee which specialized in reports on domestic communist and black extremist terrorist groups.

The slack was picked up by Rep. Larry McDonald (D-Ga?) and his staff who published a long, ongoing series of reports on various communist and terrorist groups (both domestic and foreign)for years. McDonald was killed when the Soviets shot down Flight KAL 008 off the coast of Siberian USSR.

The remaining Sen. Internal Security Subcommittee, Sen. Judiciary Committee, existed until about 1983 when it too was abolished and its functions supposedly merged into the newer House and Senate Intelligence Committees (didn’t happen).

Very little has been officially written about the post-WUO groups so the American public who doesn’t know about the few conservative books on the subject, have no idea that the WUO existed long after its’ supposed demise in the late 70’s. A few who wrote about this include David Horowitz/Richard Poe (FrontPageMagazine.com), Prof. Paul Kengor (mainly on Soviet psyops and spying operations in the US), Herbert Romerstein/Eric Breindel/Vassiliev, S. Steven Powell (IPS - “Covert Cadre” , Lynn Bouchey/Michael Waller (Council for Inter-American Security), Larry Grathwohl, former WUO member and govt agent (”Brining Down America”), Cliff Kincaid (formerly Accuracy in Media and now www.USAsurvival.org), among a few others.

The is a PhD thesis publication on the May 19th Communist Organization and its affiliates by former police intel officer J. Wilson but I don’t know if it exists outside of the PhD format. It has some of the best, real-time information on the M19CO/BLA available.

I’ll try to find out if it is available at a publicly available site/library, etc.

The US has a lot of Marxist/neo-Marxist/communist and black Marxist/fascist small terrorist groups, some with ties to Cuba, Red China, Islamic extremists (at least in the past - PLO and PFLP), the IRA, both factions, and the Sandinistas of Nicaragua (the first airplane hijacker Arguello, was a Sandinista, not a Puerto Rican as the press said).

Don’t forget Puerto Rican terrorist groups including MIRA, FALN (Fraunces Tavern, NYC deadly bombing) had direct ties to Cuba and its KGB-trained DGI (secret police), Nicaragua’s FSLN and possibly El Salvador’s FLMN through its US/CPUSA front CISPES (Committee in Solidarity with the Peoples of El Salvador), among others.

And many of the Cuban DGI trained American terrorists/supporters from within the Venceremos Brigades, including the cream of the SDS/WUO, are still around and deeply involved in communist affairs (Ayres/Dohrn, Susan Rosenberg - Black Lives Matter, possibly Mark Rudd, Clark, Blunk, etc.).

Psychopathic communists, white, black, Hispanic, etc (Atzlan, La Raza) do not retire to old-age homes for former terrorists. They are still active if only in a support role to newer communist terrorists.

Just see hwo many WUO people are still involved in communist/Marxist organizations and fronts. You’d be surprised at their resiliency and longevity.

NEVER, EVER UNDERESTIMATE OUR COMMUNIST ENEMIES. They never die. They just smell that way or get jobs as college professors.
