Britain, France and Germany all joined pleas for Joe Biden to delay the US withdrawal from Afghanistan today.
As the desperate evacuation continues, the PM will use a virtual meeting of world leaders tomorrow to push for more time to save people from the clutches of the Taliban - something the US president has so far refused to commit to.
Nearly 6,000 Britons, Afghan staff and their families have now been airlifted out by the RAF - but there are plans to fly out a further 6,000 this week.
French foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said he was 'concerned' about the deadline and 'additional time is needed'. Germany estimated it has 5,000 people still waiting to be taken to safety, with a Foreign Ministry spokesman saying the airbridges should stay open 'as long as the situation on the ground allows'.
However, the Taliban have said any extension would be a 'red line' and warned of 'consequences' - as ministers admit they have a 'vote' on the timetable.

The Taliban said no and Slow Joe doesn’t want to argue with them.
Extending the deadline isn’t up to Sleepy46. They need to go beg the ragheads for more time.
Send in multiple QRFs with air support.
ROEs - kill anyone with a gun.
The winners set the rules. I believe there are going to be a lot of coffins with American Flags on them in the immediate near future, all on Joe Biden.

Taliban Threatens Joe Biden: Stay in Afghanistan Past August and Suffer ‘Consequences’

Senior Taliban spokesman told the U.K.’s Sky News on Monday that the United States and its ally Britain will face “consequences” if they seek to extend their military presence in Afghanistan to ensure the safe evacuation of their citizens.
American President Joe Biden announced this summer that he would withdraw all American troops from the country by August 31. Biden had previously announced in April that the withdrawal would end on September 11, the 20th anniversary of the jihadist attacks that prompted the Afghan War. Both dates were a significant extension of the war from the set withdrawal date under former President Donald Trump, who brokered a deal with the Taliban that would have seen a full American military exit by May 1.
The Taliban followed Biden’s extension of the war – and his choice to break the agreement Trump brokered with the jihadist organization – with a nationwide campaign to overthrow the now-former government of Afghanistan. The campaign culminated with Taliban terrorists surrounding the country’s capital, Kabul, on August 15, prompting former President Ashraf Ghani to abruptly flee the country.
Taliban leaders now control nearly all of Afghanistan, excepting a small pocket of resistance in north-central Panjsher province, which the jihadists claimed on Monday they had surrounded and would soon control.
Taliban spokesman Suhail Shaheen discussed the current situation in Kabul – where thousands are attempting to reach the airport to avoid being under Taliban rule – with the U.K.’s Sky News, denying that the crowds feared for their safety under the radical Islamist terrorist group. The desperation to flee Taliban rule has prompted multiple deaths in and around the Kabul airport resulting from stampedes and deliberate violence. Eyewitnesses have also reported extensive violence against civilians on the part of Taliban thugs outside the airport, reports the Pentagon confirmed

Talk to the Taliban.
Be sure to have lots of money with you.
“My handlers told me it was 1984. And never use that as a reference, because some other guy came up with it.”
If he does that then there will be hostages and death. This idiot biden has had more than enough time to do it and do it right. He extended it by months already but took his time and did it backwards to arm and equip these people. Now they run the show and will harm our people. Imagine for a second if this was Trump. This would be a impeachment that would go the full way and have him out of office. But the dems will continue to protect this failure. Not even one general or person fired. Not even for optics or to make him look like he is doing something. He just don’t care. At all. He is paid off. We look like a disgrace.
The White House needs to lead, follow or get the hell out of the way. The WH and Congress are both sitting on their asses and sucking their thumbs. Someone has to take action to get something done!
Asking incompetent fraudulent slojo to extend the deadline???? c’mon man that is a question for the most benevolent and in charge tollyban….
Where we going to fly them from?…Bagram…oh never mind…plus have to continue to kiss Pakistani ass to get overflight rights…yeah that’s going to happen…c’mon man…look…here’s the thing…
More time? They had 20 years. The initial withdrawal date was the end of March. They’ve been on extended time since then.
Why do UK, Germany and France need to withdraw?
Why not keep their troops there?
LOL, it’s not up to the resident to extend anything anymore as he is under the THUMB of the NownotBan-ed!
tell it to the taliban, they’re in charge
yup, since they took all the guns from the population, anybody left wi a gun is fairgame!!!
Sorry allies, but Biden DOES NOT get to decide when to leave. The government that just defeated us gets to make that decision and they are quite clear about it.
Maybe Joe will give up the 10% cut he got from the Chi-coms for the troop withdrawal, and use it to get an extension from the Taliban.
Because the UK, Germany and France don’t have the resources. The occupation in Afghanistan costed over $40 billion a year, UK defence budget is about $60 billion a year. It would require more or less a full scale mobilisation.
