Joe Biden's aides were 'too afraid' to quiz him and his National Security Adviser over key decisions made in the run-up to the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, according to sources close to the US administration.
The President is accused of insisting on recalling US troops ahead of the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on New York and Washington DC, and allegedly ignored warnings that it would not leave the military enough time to get American nationals and allies out.
A former defence official in regular contact with senior White House aides suggested that there was not much pushback from concerned administration staffers because they were 'too afraid' of challenging Mr Biden and his National Security Adviser, Jake Sullivan.

Two thoughts.
The Democrats can’t replace Joe with the ho, because she’s the tie breaking vote in the senate. It would be possible for Republicans to either stall every bit of legislation or get outsized set-asides in every piece for themselves.
The second thought is not “who” would become the new vice president, but “what.” “It” would almost of necessity have to be one of the 57 genders and could not, under any circumstances, be a white, male, heterosexual. (Assuming there’s one left in the Democratic party.) Even the craziest Democrat knows this would be bad for the next election. Can you picture the next Democratic convention where two thirds of the participants are dressed in glitter and little else?
American citizens will be sold into slavery and will be raped for years because of this imbecilic move, and you were afraid to question the idiocy? This open border is imbecilic too, and can be fixed any time, but it is not. Women and children are abused there too.
The democrats like chaos, and are working to destroy America, wherever they can.
Whoever ordered the abandonment in the middle of the night of the secure, fortified Bagram air base replicated the disasterous order in South Vietnam in 1975 to withdraw from the Central Highlands. History repeats because the same players, perhaps with different bells and whistles, keep recurring. Jake Sullivan won’t be the last of his ilk.

I dont know why they were afraid, nobody has gotten fired no matter how incompetent, or corrupt they are in the Biden administration...seems incomptence and corruption are prerequisites.
The whole plan rested on the ANA’s capability and willingness to fight.
They had plenty of US-bought capability but zero innate willingness. Not against their cousins without the US standing right behind them.

She is from CA so the Gov (at present a Liberal) will simply name another. Perhaps the idea is to wait until after the recall election before making a decision.
