And any prosecutor or investigator who hunted down people for simple trespassing offenses (which I can’t see how you can actually be charged with after being waved into the building) should be charged, disbarred and imprisoned. All police involved in the Jan 6th incident should be questioned thoroughly at hearings at to why they let the protesters in.

They sit in jail for months on end, lose their jobs, homes, savings, autos and so forth. Then they are cut loose without being prosecuted.

It’s perfectly realistic that conservative Trump nuts would press in. That includes the fact that this was one of the lamest “riots” ever, much less “insurrection”. Only leftists know how to do pure hostile violent destruction.
It would seem they can only create one really large event at a time?

That doesn’t mean there weren’t any Trump supporters there like some suggest, but the big lie pushed by so many - that there was some planned conspiracy to overthrow the government - is completely false. And that was obvious almost immediately.
Reality is that you had a few violent right-wing folk, some counter-protestors from the left , and then a huge, unfocused mass of (admittedly right-leaning) people caught up in the moment and just following the crowd. That’s it. And the vast majority of people arrested deserve very light sentences if any punishment at all if we are playing by traditional American rules.
