Yes, that's the issue. What I'm saying is that was never going to be possible. We had to either remain in AFG or accept that the current situation was inevitable. The Taliban would smile and nod while we pulled out, and then they would have taken over with an iron fist as soon as they could. Which is exactly what they did. I'm glad Democrats control our govt while this is happening because Republicans can capitalize on it. I feel you and I are in violent agreement on this.
The only way to leave behind such a healthy guvmint is for us to be there for several decades like we did in the Philippines.
