I have a NEXUS card,which is issued jointly by the US and Canadian governments. It allows holders to pass very quickly and easily over the US/Canadian border (in both directions) and it also qualifies a holder as a "trusted traveler" at US airports...meaning,among other things,that you pass more quickly and easily through TSA lines at airports.

This card is issued after a background check *and* interview are conducted both by Homeland Security and the Canadian Border Service. They make it clear that the card can be,and will be,revoked for the slightest "infraction". Forgetting to report that you're bringing an apple across the border for example.

If Homeland Security ever discovers that I voted for Trump,contributed to his campaign,attended three of his rallies and...GASP...want to know who killed Ashli Babbitt I can surely kiss that card goodbye.

And I'll probably wind up in a dark cell somewhere as well.
