I read one analysis that said while he would likely be impeached, he would likely NOT be convicted. The vote is state Senators (43D/20R) plus 7 judges (all appointed by Cuomo). Clintonesque.
Interesting. According to wiki the vote to convict must be 2/3rds. The “court” consists of the Senate minus the Majority Leader plus 7 judges he appointed. That’s 69 total, so 2/3rd would be 46. If we assume all Rs will vote in favor, he needs to hold 27 of the remining 49 or 55%, which seems unlikely at this point but not impossible.
He doesn’t need to be impeached, he needs to be arrested and charged, and CONVICTED.
