i know that “soccer” is a huge game world wide, ...but sorry, its the stupidest game ever...too low scoring....fields too big...it all seems like one big mistake after another....
I understand. I didn’t care about the game myself until I mentored a young boy who ended up having a high skill level. He’s playing college now and I learned to love the game. I played ice hockey right through college and I can easily say that soccer players at the highest levels are arguably better athletes and every bit as tough. Lots of players act like fools on the field and it really blemishes the game but if you are not extremely athletically gifted and tough then you won’t make it to any high level of soccer. Players are constantly suffering bone-on-bone hits as well as skull on skull.
I also believe that it is much easier to appreciate these things about the game if you go to see one live and close up.
