The event I find myself enjoying the most in these Olympics is the rock climbing. And that goes for men and women. They seem like absolute freak athletes.
I'm partial to the rock throwing.
When I was in high school, a group of us football players would play what we called Hillbilly Basketball...
The only foul was dribbling....
Ernest T Bass was an Olympic rock thrower.....
You apparently since you felt inspired enough to respond to the thread.
Was he a Muslim, I hear they practice a lot.
They only play the national anthem of the winner, not the second place loser.
Wait a minute, you mean they play “Imagine” at the Opening Ceremonies, yet still play National Anthems at the Award Ceremonies?
Nah...He practiced on the Sheriff’s Office in Mayberry....
Deciding a game on Penalty kicks is not thrilling.
Winning on PK’s. Better than losing on PK’s, I guess?
There more shots on goal during the shootout than during the 120 minutes of play.
Ha ha.
It’s like deciding a tie basketball game with a round of HORSE.
Be fair, there’s a lot more scoring in basketball than soccer.
But what if in American Football, touchdowns were only worth 1 point instead of 7, then Football scores really wouldn’t be all that much different than soccer scores.
And I also don’t see these people complaining about low scoring in baseball or hockey.
I believe the game would change for the better if the rules had it that once you crossed midfield you could not go back or lose the ball.
In these other sports they decide tie games in real ways rather than stupid ways.
The way it should be done in soccer is to take the goalies out of the game and play for 10 minutes.
American football has intermediate scoring, field goals. Basketball has intermediate scoring, the 3 point line.
Soccer needs an intermediate scoring scheme. The one I like is for 10 minutes after a player gets red-carded, you add 1 meter to each side of the goal posts. You can shoot goals from mid-field.
Soccer used to do it right.
If it was a knockout tournament, they would actually replay the entire game a few days later. I think they still do this for the earlier rounds of the FA Cup.
