The local Black Lives Matter group Dallas Justice Now launched a new campaign, urging white parents in wealthy Highland Park to sign a pledge to keep their children back from America’s top colleges — in the name of “equity.” The organization’s letter to parents lays on the guilt thick.
“We are writing to you because we understand you are white and live within the Highland Park Independent School District and thus benefit from the enormous privileges taken at the expense of communities of color,” Dallas Justice Now writes to parents in the area. “You live in the whitest and wealthiest neighborhood in Dallas. Whether you know it or not, you earned or inherited your money through oppressing people of color.”

Thomas Sowell had something powerful to say about this issue. He condemned the penchant of the ivy leagues and other prestigious school to let unqualified students enroll in the precious name of “diversity,” but the students were NOT up to the task and failed out at an alarming rate, leaving them disillusioned, or worse. It would be far better to let them enroll at community-level colleges and actually achieve degrees than to set them up for failure.
At the same time, pressure on universities to bend rules to accommodate the lower academic skills of many of these students hurts more qualified students, whose curriculum is then dumbed down in the process, making their degrees less valuable in the marketplace.

People like to stop the title at the first three words.
BLM types had better hope no one reads the evolution books that they say disproves Christianity. Note: Along with “suffering” the other of the top two reasons for young people to totally abandon religious faith and church attendance is “evolution and science.”

What ENORMOUS PRIVILEGES have gone to whites in the last 20 years when colleges have already been accepting quotas of non-whites, regardless of GPA, for over 20 years??
Today's leftist suggestion becomes tomorrow's government mandate. If and when they obtain the power, they will mandate that schools reject white, wealthy students in deference to gang banger ghetto hoods. Wow, that will be a quality education.

What would keep one of these letter recipients from responding that they aren’t “white?” who’s going to check?
Just to throw a little wrench in their scheme.
What if the child doesn’t need or want the parents help in getting into college, should the parents sabotage the child’s admission forms, perhaps hide the suit cases. What if the child decides on a good trade school, HVAC, Truck mechanic, plumbing that sort of thing, should the parents attempt to sway the child into a fine arts career? Perhaps women studies?
