The cities of New York, Los Angeles and Chicago account for 13.4 percent of all unemployed people in the US, but only make up about 4.6 percent of the total population, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The BLS data show that the nation's three largest cities have unemployment rates dramatically higher than the national average of 5.9 percent in June, with Los Angeles and New York at 10.6 percent and Chicago at 8.2 percent.

Together, the three cities had a total of 1,272,464 unemployed people in June, accounting for more than one in eight of the 9.5 million seeking work nationwide.

Just about every business in So Cal has a help wanted sign in their window. McDonalds have sign saying $17 starting pay and they still can’t get enough people.

Its like that everywhere.

The Global Economic System has a serious labor supply problem.

Don’t worry imaginary robots will solve the problem shortly. (Sarcasm)

It’s disingenuous of the media to say restaurant workers don’t want to return to work. My husband is a server at a high end steakhouse and was furloughed for 7 months last fall. He couldn’t wait to get back to work because he makes more than double what unemployment in AZ was paying, even with the $600 extra. The ppl who don’t wanna go back are the dishwashers, cooks, and fast food workers who basically make minimum wage.

Muzzles are also part of it. A lot of small biz in my Upstate NY neck of the woods have chucked the muzzles, but not big biz and not the hospitality industry.

Unvaxxed restaurant workers are still being muzzled.

Completely meaningless stats. More workers in NYC and other large cities live outside their city of employment than in it.

Just look at the commuting area and numbers for NYC:

But that also explains why he’d rather take the enhanced unemployment for 7 months than a job that pays significantly less than serving at a high-end restaurant.

That’s true not just in big cities, but in certain resort areas, even one state that I know of. Vermont employers can have a hellacious time finding employees because there’s so little affordable housing available in VT. I was talking to one employer just before CoupFlu broke out who was based in a small VT town and had employees driving in from an hour or two away because of the lack of affordable housing.

Don’t know about NY and LA, but I’m sure the mare in Chicago will blame illegal unemployed people from Indiana who get driven across the border to they can shoot innocent people in the streets. Or maybe I am just combining news stories.

Another critical point is that the socialism in cities ATTRACTS PEOPLE WHO DON’T WANT TO WORK. Here in NJ, Newark is joining Paterson in launching a “guaranteed basic income” program for its idle population.

We already provide thousands in “income” by way of freebies to these parasites; I can only assume they want to give out cash (it will be in cash) to reduce the crime and corresponding murders.

A bit of that, though I think most partaking of it as a lifestyle were born into it—sadly.

They are groomed to be bipedal livestock, and that grooming has penetrated the suburbs; look at how many young Americans don’t want to work yet expect to be handed everything...

It has become so normalized that there is longer any talk of assimilation or integration; instead there are excuses (critical race theory, 400 million years of slavery, blah blah blah) - Most have completely surrendered to a life of panhandling...
