Fed-up New York City parents are demanding no masks in the classroom when school reopens in September.
Calling the coverings cruel, needless and detrimental to learning, some say they are even mulling homeschooling or private education options.
“I’m not willing to send him to school with a mask,” Manhattan mom Katherine Rohland said of her 3 1/2-year-old son, Robert, who is scheduled to go to a Department of Education pre-kindergarten program in the fall.
Rohland said the tot had to wear a mask at nursery school and immediately shut down, not talking to anyone, when he put it on. She said the facial covering also made it hard for him to be understood.
The family will enroll Robert in a private pre-K program if the DOE requires masks, Rohland said.
Stacie Tedesco, a speech pathologist who works with special needs students, said most of the time the kids did not wear masks at her school last year, and there was no coronavirus transmission between students and teachers.
She said she believed her 11-year-old, Christina, would be safe without a mask and was contemplating not sending her back to school if there was a mandate.
“We’re considering homeschooling,” she sad.
Mayor de Blasio said Monday that the city was “for now sticking with the idea that, you know, wearing the masks is a smart thing to do in schools. We’ll keep assessing as we go along. But I think for now it still makes sense.”

The level of ignorance about face masks throughout all of this is truly breathtaking — particularly after many months of data that masks have absolutely no affect on transmission of a respiratory virus. I suspect strongly that most ego-maniacal politicians, power-obsessed bureaucrats and, especially, celebrity-entralled “medical experts” know this which means — without a shadow of doubt means — they’re lying. Lying for the past 18 months right in the masked faces of American citizens who live in their realms.
The simple answer is a Citizens Initiative requiring ALL Public Employee’s and Officers of the Court to wear Masks in Perpetuity, to keep them safe from as much as possible, anyone found to be Not Properly Wearing thier Mask, Shall be Terminated, All pension and Benefits forfeited, any and all Professional Licenses Revoked Permanently, we Need to Protect Our Public Employee’s
This is conditioning. That’s all it is and I wish people would wake the Hell up. The government doesn’t give a crap about you or your health.

Why are you sending a 3 1/2 year old to school to start with. He belongs at home listening to his mother’s voice as she reads to him, clean his little hands after playing in the mud, hugging him when he falls and bangs his knee. Those days can never be recaptured.

School starts for some in August, which is next month. Insane to send little kids to school in masks. More die from influenza, but they never push masks for that.
