The US government, the educational community, the medical community and the tech community have lied to America incessantly for a couple of decades. It has switched into high gear in the last six years. Now nobody trusts them, and assumes that the opposite of what they say must be true. Until they deal with their rampant dishonesty, they will get no cooperation on anything and should expect hostility.
