THE Taliban have seized control of a THIRD of Afghanistan as they continue to accelerate their blitz offensive while the US continues to withdraw their forces.
The US has wasted nearly $1trillion on the "pointless" 20-year battle trying to stave off the terror group who are fighting to gain ultimate control over the war-torn country.
The Taliban have been on tenterhooks to forge ahead with their scheme since President Joe Biden announced the withdrawal of troops back in April and have since continued at "lightning speed".
Jihadist forces have now advanced across rural areas, putting them in reaching distance of major cities such as Herat and Kabul.
A recent US intelligence report warned they could take the capital, Kabul, within six months.

Take all the women who want to leave and bring them to the country of their choice . . . then offer the men who don’t want to stay and give them passage to India or Pakistan. Remove the troops and make it clear to the Taliban that the next time they try to aid terrorism they face nuclear ruin. Let them practice their crap without any women to serve them.

There is a saying about Africa: Africa wins again. The same can be said about Afghanistan: Afghanistan wins again. The graveyard of empires. Sooner or later, Afghanistan always wins.
Going in to pound Al Qaeda and Osama was one thing, staying to try to build Afghanistan into a modern nation state was madness and a waste of good American lives.
It’s not our circus, not our monkeys.
Obama left Iraq to hand it over to ISIS and Iran and kept us bound and hobbled in Afghanistan so as to demoralize and help the Taliban our troops wear down our weapons and maim and demoralize our soldiers. We never should have left Iraq and we should have left Afghanistan 15 years ago.
We haven’t won a war since world war 2. I’m not counting the Gulf war since Iraq never really stood a chance against the United States as his troops were not trained in the Western way of warfare.
Though we will never win a war when our tactics are being guided and second guessed by lawyers.
The Taliban were animals and they should have been eliminated without a second thought.
We can’t blame our troops. We have to place the blame where it belongs our politicians.
Serving in the military was one of the best decisions I ever made (45+ years ago) - but the older I get, the more I feel played. But at the company level - best friends you’ll ever have.
