Mark Milley reportedly found themselves in a heated shouting match in the Situation Room last year.
The account comes via reporter Michael Bender's new book Frankly, We Did Win This Election, as revealed Monday by Axios. According to Axios, the book describes how Milley "repeatedly blew up" at Trump over how racial justice protests should be handled in the summer of 2020, with Trump looking to invoke the Insurrection Act.
A passage from the book describes how during a meeting in the Situation Room, Trump reportedly "exaggerated claims about the violence and alarmed officials," announcing he "put Milley 'in charge.'" But Milley reportedly "confronted Trump about his role," telling him he "was an adviser, and not in command," at which point Trump "had enough."
"I said you're in f---ing charge!" Trump reportedly shouted at Milley, prompting Milley to yell back, "Well, I'm not in charge!" Trump reportedly then told him, "You can't f---ing talk to me like that!" Milley reportedly said to others, "Goddamnit. There's a room full of lawyers here. Will someone inform him of my legal responsibilities?"

I love how these generals objected to the use of troops to quell violence on our streets.
But war on another country? Send our sons and daughters to a foreign country to nation build and prevent riots and violence? Oh, that is just fine. And if our sons and daughters die in the process? Interesting that with the new “president” with whom Milley agrees, they can’t shut him up on issues he knows nothing about and shouldn’t be opining. And how do they let senior military officers get that obese? I thought the Army had physical fitness standards so that you have to run your legs and not your mouth.

I believe the media and deep state would have LOVED to see US Army in Portland, New York and Seattle, bashing protestors, to build the narrative of “Trump is a dictator.”
IMHO, how it turned out was probably the best for Trump. I had always assumed he carefully cultivated this position: Let Americans see burning democrat cities. Talk tough, demand order, and continuously offer help - but make the punk Mayors and blue-state governors be forced to make the call.
Obama cleaned out the top brass. And most flag officers are nothing but politicians. In Milley’s case he did serve in Spec Ops. But it is the NCOs that really do the wet work. Not the officers. No offense to officers in our Spec Ops community but you know it’s true.
