U.K. Health Secretary Matt Hancock, who has led the country's response to the coronavirus, resigned Saturday, a day after apologizing for breaching social distancing rules with an aide with whom he was allegedly having an affair.
Hancock had been under growing pressure since the tabloid Sun newspaper published images showing him and senior aide Gina Coladangelo kissing in an office at the Department of Health. The Sun said the closed circuit television images were taken May 6 — 11 days before lockdown rules were eased to allow hugs and other physical contact with people outside one's own household.
In a resignation letter to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Hancock said the government owed it "to people who have sacrificed so much in this pandemic to be honest when we have let them down."
"And those of us who make these rules have got to stick by them and that's why I've got to resign," he wrote.

This man was the architect of COVID tyranny in the UK who broke a rule he decreed about ‘social distancing’.
People got upset about that but they did not get upset about all the other useless rules like the mask and so on.

Who cares? None of Biden’s aides, advisors and “house” scientists, as well as members of Congress, who broke Coronavirus regulations were punished as far as I can recall.
Even Gov. Newsom is still in office.
England is now a 2nd rate nation trying to achieve 3rd rate status in the next couple of years. If they don’t get another “Iron Lady” like Thatcher, either the communist/Imperial flag of Russia or Red China will be along-side the Union Jack (or in-place of it) or whatever they call it today, or it will be the Sword of Islam.
The argument that he resigned because he broke Covid rules is silly, he's using it as an excuse to avoid admitting the real reason which is he's boinking his assistant and the chit's about to hit the fan over that.
Wouldn’t want to violate any of the rules of the new national religion. We are all Branch Covidians now.

I’ll bet he’s getting a lot of emailed love letters from women now that this secret is out. Women seem more a lot more interested when they know some other woman wants the same man.
