Putin likens Russian crackdown to arresting Capitol rioters

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is to meet President Joe Biden at a summit Wednesday, has suggested that the hundreds of people arrested for rioting at the U.S. Capitol are being subjected to “persecution for political opinions.”

...

“You are presenting it as dissent and intolerance toward dissent in Russia. We view it completely differently,” he said in an interview with NBC News broadcast Monday. He then pointed to the Jan. 6 insurrection in Washington when protesters barged into the Capitol to try to halt the count of electoral votes to certify Biden’s election victory over Donald Trump.

“Do you know that 450 individuals were arrested after entering the Congress? ... They came there with political demands,” he said.

““Did you order the assassination of the woman who walked into the Congress and who was shot and killed by a policeman?” Putin said, referring to Trump supporter Ashli Babbitt, who was fatally shot by a Capitol Police officer as she tried to climb through a window that led to the House floor.”

Interesting our own journalist and politicians aren’t so interested in this question.

"...Putin also reiterated denials that the Kremlin was behind last year’s poisoning of Navalny with a nerve agent that nearly killed him.

“We don’t have this kind of habit, of assassinating anybody,” Putin said.

LOL. Putin is really on fire there. I despise the man, but he is rightfully trolling with open lies just like the Left does...

I believe that the Dems cheated in 2016 as well, and that Trump wouldn’t have won without interference ito that cheating.

The omissions of the critique in the weeks following speak loudly to the likely source of that interference and explains the anti-Russian ferocity of “Pee-gate”...imho

And it is not just Russia. For the first time since 1989, the Chinese Communist Party celebrated the Tiananmen anniversary. They used similar language. After all, if we can lock up civilians for ‘insurrection’, so can they.

Democrats and their media propagandists are such evil authoritarians.

I do not believe the Dems cheated in 2016. I think they really had confidence in their mighty “Blue Wall”, and I think they really believe that Hillary would win in her own right.

After all, who would vote for that other guy, right?

I think the shock lead them to work out a plan for cheating which was tested in 2018, and then taken full-scale in 2020.

Although the protests that erupted across Russia after Navalny’s arrest in January were unsanctioned, demonstrators were largely peaceful and did not enter government buildings or cause significant property damage, unlike the Capitol riot.

Maybe the protests in Russia did not enter government buildings like Democrats do so often that they even proudly call some of their activist groups "Occupy _____" where the blank is something they occupy as a form of protest. And maybe the protests in Russia were not as violent as the continuing protests of Democrat thugs that burn businesses down destroying lives of innocent victims along the way. Maybe they were not even as bad as the protesters in the US Capital, a few of whom broke into the place, but most of whom just wondered in as it seemed ok even having Capital police wave them in in many cases...and yet were met with deadly force in one case, and then got blamed for there being deaths by the US media propagandists like those in the AP.

I don't know much about whether Putin is being a tyrant. But it is very very very very clear that the Biden is.

Vladimir Putin is uncommonly perceptive, you know. It IS a political persecution, as the persons being charged are almost uniformly those who were NOT rioting. Those who were instigating the swarm over the balustrades and walls of the Capitol were agents provocateurs, sympathetic to if not part of BLM/Antifa, dressed in what were apparently the kind of clothing and carrying flags indicating apparent support of Trump. Yet not one has been charged.

And Nancy Pelosi knew they were coming.

Full transcript of exclusive Putin interview with NBC News’ Keir Simmons
NBC “News” ^ | June 14, 2021 | Text Transcript

KEIR SIMMONS: —a direct question? Did you order Alexei Navalny’s assassination?

VLADIMIR PUTIN: Of course not. We don't have this kind of habit, of assassinating anybody. That's one. Number two is I want to ask you: Did you order the assassination of the woman who walked into the Congress and who was shot and killed by a policeman? (Ashli Babbit) Do you know that 450 individuals were arrested after entering the Congress? And they didn't go there to steal a laptop. They came with political demands. 450 people—

KEIR SIMMONS: You're talking about the Capitol riot.

VLADIMIR PUTIN: —have been detained. They're facing— they're looking— they're— they're looking at jail time, between 15 and 25 years. And they came to the Congress with political demands. Isn't that persecution for political opinions? Some have been accused of plotting to topple— to take over-government power. Some are accused of— robbery. They didn't go there to rob.

Oh God! How I wish that would happen! Please Mr. Putin?, do it!

I bet the Russians are aware of FR and how American conservatives feel. They must also know that conservatives are generally more educated on political realities.

This is all Russian managed theater and staging of assets for his meeting with Bidet. In contrast, it took five CNN hacks to write a content-free article on"Biden preparing intensely for Putin's tactics with aides and allies" featuring this confidence-inspiring and Putin-scaring line:

"He's overprepared!" Biden's wife, first lady Jill Biden, exclaimed last week when asked whether her husband was primed for his meeting with Putin.

It seems Putin's strategy is to embrace the DNC talking point of Jan 6 and use it to his benefit/shut down any Bidet attack on Putin's thuggery, while furthering his inroads with hypnotized "conservatives."

Putin is a snake, a murderous thug who'd fly the rainbow flag vs his faux Christianity if he thought it'd give him some advantage. The Office of the Presidency, even with Sleepy in the chair, carries political cred globally. Bidet never should have agreed to meet with Putin, and while it's a stretch pepsionice's forecast may be accurate:

Biden will start off in the conversation with some lecture. About three minutes into this....Putin will put five cards on the table....all with tens of millions over cash transfers going from Hunter to Biden PAC’s. Putin will just start grinning and Biden will walk out of the room now grasping that the KGB watched every single money transfer occur.
