I’ve spent quite a bit of time in Alaska, and it is pretty well armed with people having guns on them at all times. This coming from a Texas resident and frequent traveler to Wisconsin (Highest per capita gun ownership in the USA).
Alaska has the “handle it yourself” mentality, since police are not common, and in most of the state police response is HOURS away from you.

I saw mention of Wasilla, Alaska, I thought the topic would be Sarah Palin or her family. I’m thinking “What has her son Track done now?”.

Never mind.

Alaska: The land of car thieves, guns, meth heads and drunks.

And some great people!

The odds are good that the goods are odd.

I was helped out by a deputy in Montana after a car accident (hitting a deer). He said that I was lucky as he was the only deputy on duty and might have been two hours north in the county.

“Well, I MIGHT have been up there - but that is only after somebody is dead. They handle things themselves before they will call us. They don’t like us very much.”
