Abbott’s Primary Challenger Don Huffines BLASTS Him For Allowing Child Sex Changes In Texas
National File ^ | May 20, 2021 | By TOM PAPPERT

Texas real estate developer Don Huffines, who is widely expected to self-fund his primary campaign against Gov. Greg Abbott, released a new ad featuring Jeff Younger – the father of 9-year-old James Younger, who identifies as a boy with his father but is being forced to wear dresses and identify as a girl by his mother – that slams Abbott for his refusal to take a pivotal stand on the issue of child gender transition surgeries and chemical castration.

The ad, posted to the official Don Huffines Twitter account this morning, begins with a monologue from Younger. “I live in Texas, and my ex wife has been trying to sexually transition my son since the age of three. She wants him to be a girl. I’m fighting for my son’s life because our politicians refuse to ban the barbaric practice of transition therapy, puberty blockers, and even genital mutilation surgery on kids,” said Younger. “Two years ago, after receiving a massive amount of pressure about his silence on this abuse, Greg Abbott tweeted this.”

In the 2019 tweet, Abbott claimed, “FYI the matter of 7 year old James Younger is being looked into by the Texas Attorney General’s Office and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.” Younger explains that Abbott has remained completely silent and inactive on the issue since writing the tweet almost two years ago.

“Since that tweet, Abbott hasn’t said or done a thing about my son’s case or others like it. Last week, Republicans even killed legislation that would ban sex change surgeries on children right here in Texas,” noted Younger.

It is Abbott’s election to lose. He’s doing a great job at doing himself out of the job.

The Chamber of Chinese Commerce owned GOP just couldn’t care less about social issues.

I guess this is where we rain hate on Abbott so we can shower love on a guy that we don’t know anything about.

but we can’t hate what we don’t know, and have nothing but hate for everyone we do know. so, the guy that we don’t know wins. until we know him, at least. then we’ll hate him.

Does Abbott have the legal authority to stop it? Last I checked, laws are created by the legislature and they have the ability to override a veto, so a little more info would be helpful.

Is it the Gov? Or “Republicans”?

From the article:

Don Huffines was my State Rep for 2 terms. He’s a great conservative. He is utterly dauntless and persistent. He never sold us out.

small sample size; it’s hard to sell out when you’ve been a state rep for a short time.

I don’t think Abbott is the Conservative folks think or hope he is. It’s easy to be Conservative in Texas about certain things.

Whether he really is a Conservative or not, is irrelevant at this point. Thanks to Perry, and his recruiting as many companies as possible to move to Texas, almost of them leaning LEFT, Abbott has to walk a thin line.

If he were really a Conservative, first thing he should have done is take away In-State tuition to illegals, IMHO.

wanna know why we’re going to fail to take the house and/or senate in 2022? because we’re too busy killing republicans to ever lay a glove on a democrat.

and that’s retarded.

“Gov. Greg Abbott says he would sign a bill preventing transgender youth from competing on teams that align with their gender identity if it clears the Legislature over opposition from lawmakers who decry it as discriminatory.”

https://www.dallasnews.com/news/politics/2021/04/30/gov-greg-abbott-says-he-would-sign-texas-transgender-sports-bill-viewed-as-disciminatory-by-foes

Greg Abbott is silent on gender surgery because Ken Paxton can’t get a clear view how to write policy, and I greatly respect Ken Paxton.

Why I think it can be hard to write policy, is because the issue could prevent legitimate surgeries such as for ambiguous genitalia which is rare but exists nonetheless. Hermaphrodites exist.

It’s not a straightforward issue although in the Younger case it is and the Judge in the case should rule the mother is prohibited from allowing her son to be castrated unless a panel of doctors say the child’s life is in danger if surgery is not performed (e.g. cancer).

Agree. I think Abbott is targeted because of his effective border response which would be even more effective if the Biden Administration wasn’t allowing the Cartels to run roughshod over some border areas.

YEP! His idiotic mask mandate, and then his refusal to remove the mandate, when there was obvious PROOF they weren’t doing a dang thing, and then this and so many other middle-of-the-road, wishy-washy statements on several “controversial” issues.

Abbott and the rest of the wishy-washy republicans (little “r”) in Texas politics actually believe Texas is going Blue at any dang minute...so they try to ride the line, which causes Conservatives to leave the GOP because the GOP abandoned us for that non-existent “middle ground!” Which is what causes Texas to slowly “turn blue.”

I’m not a huge Huffines fan, but I am slowly becoming a NON-fan of Abbott!

I will look into him, but Abbot is going to have all the money. Heck, we could only get 15% against Cornyn in the primary, and Abbot is “more conservative” than Cornyn.

But we really need strong Conservative leadership with the road up ahead, and I believe Abbot will sell us out. Some already think so, and his leadership has been problematic during his tenure as Governor. I have actually been impressed with Ken Paxton.

Huffines would be better on the border, and pretty much everything else. Abbott is despised by Texas conservatives. So is Paxton.
