He cites the example of using Britain's estimates and adjusting them to Belgium's population size and said it's important to talk about death so people will stop and pay attention. And then he says that in reality, that number of deaths is the same for every year (i.e., flu deaths) and the audience laughs but he said it's necessary to prepare the field, so to speak.
