The Yellow Star is from a different era and a different meaning; I can see however why we’d want to wear it as a protest.

I think people donning the yellow star are guilty of cultural appropriation. Having to wear the humiliating and identifying yellow star was a tactic used by the Nazis to make the Jews objects of derision and to stand out from others as separate. I don’t think their use by latter-day mask protesters is appropriate; it cheapens the horrible conditions the original yellow star brought about for Jews wearing it.
