The top U.S general for Africa is warning that a growing threat from China may come not just from the waters of the Pacific but from the Atlantic as well.

U.S. Gen. Stephen Townsend, in an interview with The Associated Press, said Beijing is looking to establish a large navy port capable of hosting submarines or aircraft carriers on Africa´s western coast.

Townsend said China has approached countries stretching from Mauritania to south of Namibia, intent on establishing a naval facility. If realized, that prospect would enable China to base warships in its expanding Navy in the Atlantic as well as Pacific oceans.

Yeah. While the CIA and woke military members contemplate which gender they are. The Chinese just continue building their armies and getting deeper and deeper into our systems through both technology, industries, corporations, media, and spies. Psy ops on Americans were easy for them through the main stream American hating media and the teachers have done a golden job of preparing brainwashed Americans to easily surrender to the Chinese take over.

The submarines and aircraft carriers in seaports in West Africa are happening now. The Biden mob is asleep at the switch while they focus on keeping der Präsident out of trouble.

To venture a controversial opinion:

The presence of Chinese aircraft carriers on the West Coast of Africa is no more a threat to the United States than the presence of American aircraft carriers on the East Coast of China poses a threat to China because both are increasingly vulnerable the closer they approach enemy shores. Long-range rockets can deliver nuclear strikes better than carriers even as carriers become increasingly vulnerable.

Therefore, the danger posed by these weapon platforms on the coast of Africa is not directly against the United States but against the states of Africa and potentially South America who are relatively incapable of defending against them. As aircraft carriers lose utility against superpowers with sophisticated long-range weapons, they nevertheless continue to perform their role of projecting power against second-class powers analogous to the influence of British gunboats in the 19th century.

I presume that the purpose of the Chinese is to change the nature of power in these regions by the introduction of weapons of intimidation along these coasts but not to exert an existential threat against the United States. We should understand that but we should also understand that the threat of undermining all these African and potentially South American states changes the balance of power in these vast regions and ultimately becomes an existential threat to us.

Hey General, internal threats from “inclusion” and wokeness are worse for your military and country than anything China can bring on being in Western Africa. Why don’t you talk about those?

Panel: Russian Navy Expanding Presence in the Mediterranean Sea, Africa
https://news.usni.org/2021/04/30/panel-russian-navy-expanding-presence-in-the-mediterranean-sea-africa

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s conviction that a “world power needs a great navy” goes a long way in explaining Russia’s growing naval presence and operations in the Eastern Mediterranean and along the African coast, a senior American intelligence officer said Thursday.

Christopher Bort, a specialist for Russia and Eurasia at the National Intelligence Council, said that since 2013 Putin has placed more emphasis on its naval presence — first in Syria, where it has a base, and then working to close a deal on establishing a naval logistics facility in Sudan.

Speaking at an Atlantic Council forum, he added that this increased naval visibility is “not just in the Mediterranean, but in the Pacific.”

The existential threat already occupies every institution of Old Republic power. China and its PLA/PLAN will simply mop up the table scraps after the American elites are done plundering.

Well, be sure to continue the one-sided trade deals and hundreds of billions in annual trade deficits so the USA can continue to help finance the Chinese military buildup.

Most stupid and dangerous foreign and trade policies in our history and Trump’s the only president who ever tried to pull back on it. Full speed ahead with Dementia Joe.

Very good points. As China becomes the world’s largest trading nation it gets far more interests around the world.

China is dependent on oil from Angola, iron ore from Brazil, and customers in Nigeria.

Those are the sort of nations they are likely to get involved in.

Biden seems set on weakening our military and transforming it into an extension of the Progressive Left. Clearly, these dangerous policies, the brainchild of Biden’s handlers, are being implemented by SecDef Austin and the JCS Generals. Likewise, there is much public information demonstrating an unhealthy connection between the Biden Family, other powerful politicians, and China, all of which presumably is known to the Generals. This makes me wonder if the General who spoke out about the danger presented by China is among those more concerned with the security of our country than their own career advancement. Since no General would make this type of statement without permission, there may be others in the Pentagon who also see and fear the Chinese threat and want to bring it to the attention of the public.

China is about to discover the problem with taking over African countries. It’s easy at first, you just need money. Then you need a lot more money. Then there is never enough money. Then they turn on you.

....fyi, Nathan Bedford Forrest is my favorite “Combat” General!

I’m going to disagree with you on one premise of your writing in this post. Namely, I think “generally speaking” that China showing up on the African West Coast with their hugely defective tub of bolts purchased from Russia is a good thing for the US. For spot on backdrop, please recall the “Soviet Union” that liked to dabble in adventures around the world that they couldn’t afford.

China showing up in Africa is like one man with a Chevy Luv Pick up, a wheelbarrow and shovel showing up by himself at the World Trade Center site the day after they collapsed.

Like the WTC was that day, Africa is such a huge mess that China would be better off leaving it’s half carrier in Chinese waters back home close to tugboats and just burn the money it’s spending in Africa.
