Even if he's conservative on some issues, Bruce Jenner is still a man: Conservatives are destroying their credibility by going along with "Caitlyn" and female pronouns

I have been observing political maneuvering in California as relates to the recall of Governor Newsom and the candidates lining up to replace him. During appearances in conservative media, hosts have referred to the putative CA gubernatorial candidate as "Caitlyn Jenner" and used the pronoun "she."

As Jenner continues campaigning, Conservative, Inc. is going to find itself in a position of pitiful intellectual inconsistency. For years, conservatives have rejected the concept of "trans" as simply impossible. Conservatives seek to understand and amplify objective reality over political narratives. Accepting the concept that Jenner is female is a direct assault on this philosophical and factual perspective.

While Jenner is advancing conservative principles, are conservatives going to simply ignore the fact that Jenner is a person suffering from delusion? No!

There is absolutely no way that this issue is going to disappear. I believe that conservative stalwarts need to formulate and articulate a coherent perspective on this issue. This perspective must acknowledge the objective reality that Jenner was born male, continues to be male, and will never be anything except male. Humans are born male and female — a condition established at the moment of conception, entirely unchangeable. To accept Jenner's premise that he has transformed into a female is to fully reject objective reality. (This is not to say Jenner's comments in support of other conservative principles are incorrect.)

During many programs on both radio and television, and within the conservative blogosphere, pundits exhort their listeners to reject leftist language and leftist assumptions about humanity and political issues. Accepting Jenner as female can do nothing but nullify those exhortations and serves to fully discredit subsequent strategies offered to thwart leftism.

I believe in objective, observable reality. I reject leftist philosophy and leftist efforts to dismantle the social fabric of USA

WHOSE PRONOUNS?

First, I heard a screed from a loud...woman?...letting us know in no uncertain terms that if we are not willing to use her preferred pronouns, then we shouldn't address her at all.

Second, for the first time, I saw an email at my (somewhat stodgy and conservative) workplace with the tag line "Pronouns: She, Her, Hers."

The combination caused a dim LED bulb to flicker above my head, illuminating a really, really important piece of information that has been hiding in plain sight: what do you mean, your pronouns?

In a classic example of leftist verbal subterfuge, the assumption that pronouns are owned by the addressed subject seems to have been slid right past us underneath the larger chaotic mishmash of transgenderism.

That is so profoundly wrong: they ain't your pronouns. They ain't my pronouns. They are the English language's pronouns.

No language or culture can long endure without a common and accepted set of rules that define the structure and meaning of our shared language. We do not get to define society in terms of what we want; we interact with culture according to a shared set of assumptions and beliefs. My identity is not defined by what I want in isolation; it is defined by the way in which I interact and integrate with the rest of my culture. It is a shared endeavor. The insistence that one gets to choose one's pronouns makes no more sense than insisting that dogs should be called sausage monsters. We don't get to invent our language on the fly.

Lesser of two evils...maybe. He’s certainly no *worse* than anyone the Rat Party would put forward...and just might be even a little better. He has a mental illness.

Interesting observations.

Is it somehow an endorsement of all this transsexual sex change, gender bending identities, to support Bruce/Caitlyn over the remaining collection of kooks and crackpots who will be running for governor in the recall?

I understand the author’s point but purity in California isn’t an issue right now. We need to win seats/governorships in blue states right now.

If it takes Caitlyn Jenner to accomplish this, so be it

In deep blue states like NJ, NY, CA, IL, etc I have no problem with fielding right of center candidates (not RINOs or Never Trumpers, those are just Dems in Reps clothing). A candidate that is 85% with us, is still better then a candidate that is 100% against us.

"He has a mental illness."

Right, but more than that, he is delusional.

Would you vote for someone who was convinced they were a poached egg?

True, but if he can change his mind on something this life-altering, then he may change his mind on many things before it’s all said and done. Somewhat fickle, wouldn’t you say?

“Caitlyn” Jenner might be crazy, but he’s not fascist crazy. And unfortunately that might be the only two options California ends up with. Crazy or fascist crazy.

I agree they are trying to normalize deviancy even if I agree with Jenner on this point.

Do not go along with the sex insanity. Do not accede to it. Do not pretend to be insane. Do not deny absolute truth.

There will be scores of people to vote for on that ballot. Jenner is just getting a lot of attention. Because he is insane.

I watched the first half of Bruce Lopadikoffme and Call Me Caitlyn Jenner’s interview on Hannity. It was puke worthy. It (not he as it was neutered) had nothing to say. It used a lot of words to say next to nothing. Jenner showed it is not a viable candidate no matter how much Hannity thinks it is the “best” candidate in the field. It is the best known candidate, but bet known is a far cry from best.

None of this really matters, anyway. No GOPer, especially with eight candidates diluting the ever-shrinking Republican vote in ûber-left Cali, has the remotest of chances of winning, since either Newsom or an even more leftist dem will win that recall in a walk.

‘During appearances in conservative media, hosts have referred to the putative CA gubernatorial candidate as “Caitlyn Jenner” and used the pronoun “she.”’

Then it wasn’t really “conservative media”.

If I am talking about a person, I get to decide their pronouns, not them. I might call a liberal male “her” for effect for instance.

It is so much simpler than that.

Anyone who is so unhappy that he/she was born male or female is mentally unstable and therefore not an ideal person to hold public office in any position of power.

It is not wise to put obviously unstable people in power.
