A Texas court is scheduled to hear arguments Tuesday on overturning the conviction of a former Dallas police officer who was sentenced to prison for fatally shooting her neighbor in his home.

I remember that case. The poor dude lived on another floor, but this nitwit cop thought she was opening the door to *her* apartment and that the dude, sitting on the couch watching TV, was an intruder. Pulled her gun and shot him dead.
You are correct.
Then as he laid there gasping for air and bleeding out, she called her boyfriend to whine "I'm so F&%$#*ed" and "I'm gonna lose my job" rather than aid or even comfort the innocent man she shot.
With TX law only requiring her to serve 1/2 of her 10 year sentence, she will be eligible for parole in just 3-1/2 years. As far as I'm concerned, this appeal proves that she has not accepted responsibility for killing an innocent man. And she doesn't give a crap about the additional pain she will inflict on Jean's family by dredging this all up again. If she refuses to accept responsibility, let her serve the entire 10 years.
Gonna be very interesting to see how her counsel tries to apply the Castle doctrine when it was Jean’s castle, not hers...
