South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham (R) on Sunday slammed Democrats for blocking Sen. Tim Scott’s (R-SC) legislation that would reform policing in America. He also hit back at the idea that America is “systemically racist.”
“We would have police reform in the last Congress, but Chuck Schumer and Kamala Harris made a conscious effort to block bringing up Tim Scott’s reform bill,” Graham said on “Fox News Sunday.”
“They filibustered Tim Scott’s bill because they didn’t want Tim Scott and President Trump to get credit for it,” Graham continued.
The one area where Democrats and Republicans are still negotiating is on qualified immunity. The idea behind the protection is that a civil servant, like law enforcement officers, cannot be sued and held personally responsible for violating a person’s constitutional rights unless a court ruled those rights were “clearly established” and deemed unconstitutional.
According to Graham, that protection is a “big deal” for members of law enforcement across the country.
“Qualified immunity is a very big deal. If you want to destroy policing in America, make sure that every cop can be sued when they leave the house. There’s a way to find qualified immunity reform. Take the cop out of it,” Graham explained. “My idea, along with Sen. Scott, is you can’t sue the police officer, you sue the department if there’s an allegation of civil rights abuse or constitutional right abuse.”
President Joe Biden and other Democrats have repeatedly said that incidents between minorities and law enforcement officers are a result of “systemic racism” in America, particularly in policing. That is something with which Graham strongly disagrees.
“Senator, is there systemic racism in this country, in policing and in other institutions?” host Chris Wallace asked.

Changing voter laws to accommodate Dems’ bigotry of low expectations of blacks is systemic racism.
CRT in public and private schools is systemic racism (and child abuse).
creating and constantly repeating the term “white privilege” is systemic racism...
And promoted by Democrats, liberals, black leadership and the media.
And if there is it has been promoted by Democrats, liberals, black leadership and the media.
He forgot about the Congressional Black Caucus.
Can’t get any more systemically racist than the CBC.
Systemic lack of character sounds about right.
Yeah, jeeze... Racism abounds in most all ethnic cultures and I know that’s true from a lifetime of personal experience dealing with them. Sometimes it seems to me that only white people have put aside their racism. The other races think they’re entitled to wield it as some kind of weapon.
It’s true, but of course, if the truth hurts it must be banished and replaced with lies these days. Replaced with what’s ‘woke’, right? So in ‘woke’ speak, whites are the racists and all others are innocent as lambs.
Just what I was going to post.
Affirmative action is systemic racism/sexism.
Critical Race Theory is anti-white racism/genocide on steroids.
Exactly! So destructive!
Whatever, Linda.
Why was he silent all last summer during the BLM riots which helped the Dems?
“...Sen. Lindsey Graham Says There Is No ‘Systemic Racism’ In The United States...”
Just because you hate the specific son of a bitch who is trying to rob, rape, carjack you etc doesn’t make you a racist.
The Democrats are trying to set it up for Reparations
People might take your comment more seriously if you stopped calling him Linda.
But aside from that, you’re right. Graham is right in that there’s no “systemic” racism - against blacks. But you’re right that, on the other hand, the system is being turned into one biased against whites or, better put, people of European descent.
I say this because some people think of “whites” as being WASPs only , but the new system is biased against anybody of European descent: Catholic, Protestant or Jewish; German, French, Italian, Spanish, Slavic...well, you get the idea.
This has got to stop.
Linda’s role is to give the Rats cover by pretending to be the opposition, nothing more. It’s all Kabuki Theater.
