Completely understood; just trying to illustrate how ridiculous the argument is that it’s “just the old and the sick”. Okay, well that’s half the country. We should probably be concerned about that.

But yes, totally understand that younger people are having problems as well, and certain variants seem to impact them more too. I remain encouraged by Israel’s success with the vaccination program and I believe we’ll soon get there. But getting there remains important.

I’m curious if you’ve seen any evidence of significant effects (clotting, lung scarring, brain issues, etc.) with younger children (under 12)? I’ve seen a lot saying there’s a significant contrast between the experience of teenagers versus younger kids, but I haven’t seen that quantified in terms of clinical presentation.

I dont treat kids and havent heard of much for whatever that’s worth. I come from a slightly different viewpoint. At this time anyone who wants the vaccine can get it. I really don’t care if they get it or not. Most of the elderly population has been vaccinated. I say open things up (not that they ever should have been closed down) and let the chips fall where they may. Those that want to be protected are. The rest have made their decision as is their right

I have to say i’m a little surprised at my rabid democrat of a governor. With cases and hospitalizations rising he has taken the same tack and is letting local areas decide how far to open as over 70% of the elderly have had at least one vaccination. I did not expect such a sensible approach. My county is now 100% open except for the state mask mandates that will expire in a few weeks.
