Work of former medical examiner to be reviewed after he testified for defense in Chauvin trial
Chicago Tribune ^ | April 23, 2021 | Phillip Jackson and Justin Fenton

The Maryland’s Attorney General’s Office said Friday it believes there should be a review of “in custody” death reports produced by the state’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner during the tenure of Dr. David Fowler, nine days after Fowler testified that an ex-Minneapolis police officer was not responsible for the death of George Floyd in police custody.

The announcement came less than 24 hours after the attorney general’s office received a letter from the former medical examiner of Washington, D.C., Roger A. Mitchell, signed by 431 doctors from around the country, saying Fowler’s testimony and conclusions were so far outside the bounds of accepted forensic practice that all his previous work could come into question.

“Dr. Fowler’s stated opinion that George Floyd’s death during active police restraint should be certified with an ‘undetermined’ manner is outside the standard practice and conventions for investigating and certification of in-custody deaths. This stated opinion raises significant concerns for his previous practice and management,” the letter said.

Attorney General Brian Frosh’s office said Friday afternoon that it agreed for the need to review Fowler’s work, and said it had been in contact with Gov. Larry Hogan’s staff.

“We agree that it is appropriate for independent experts to review reports issued by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) regarding deaths in custody,” Raquel Coombs, a spokeswoman for Frosh, said in an statement to The Baltimore Sun. “We are already in conversations with the Governor’s Office about the need for such a review, and have offered to coordinate it.”

We’re letting it happen. We deserve whatever nonsense comes our way. The left has far more patience and resolve than the right will ever display.

If the state and the political powers that be disagree with the opinion of a professional and his staff, he/she need to be destroyed professionally. That is the way things are done in the USSA.

“He was considered one of the foremost medical examiners in the country and served on national boards.”

But he didn’t come to the “right conclusion”, so let’s just call every case he oversaw for more than a decade into question and potentially release everyone who was found guilty as a result of his and his team’s analysis.

Next they’ll pull his medical license. And his social credit score just went down 50 points—he can no longer travel or access his online accounts.

Well, I wish I knew more about the subject matter, for it may be that this medical examiner shouldn’t have testified as he did. it does look like retribution, but in our courts every day, professional witness “experts” will testify in your favor if you have enough cash. It’s a corrupt practice, and should have been outlawed long ago. I don’t know what the solution is, but the Courts have become the same dumpster fire that our political branches have become.

Nobody did anything about the weird psychoanalytical pronounces of that Harvard? psychologist on the mental state of Donald Trump, did they?

Some of the “professional experts” on the Left were just as far-out in their pronouncements on a number of medical/crime issues and nothing happened to them, especially those armchair quacks on CNN and MSNBC, etc.

Frosh is a hardcore leftist, one of the worst in the Maryland government. I’m willing to bet that Soros slipped him some “insurance money” for the last election.

Does anyone know a reliable source on this issue?

Actually, I think she did lose her position. She did get in trouble for her actions

There’s no way out of this insane nightmare other than “them or us.” One side has to go.

In order to render an opinion in court, the judge must find that the "expert" is qualified either by education or experience, or both, to render an opinion which of course will be subject to cross-examination.

Now, instead of a judgment made by a judge reflecting on education experience and leaving the matter subject to the jury as they experience the cross-examination of the expert, we now have a whole new standard, whether or not the expert is politically correct. Whether he is factually correct is evidently relatively unimportant.

If politically incorrect, the expert's qualifications will be questioned in further proceedings, and even in pass proceedings, but even his livelihood will be threatened, his reputation assaulted and his professional licenses will be challenged.

Soon we will have no need of judges or juries or experts for that matter, we will only need to be woke. Instead of due process before the hanging we now will simply need to establish wokeness before the hanging.

The Rats set the stage for this “hearing” by way of the BLM violence it incited across America. Are we now shocked to see jury intimidation, the disregard for due process?
