Actually he was doing his job. May seem chickensh*t to you hero, but it was a valid traffic stop that could have been over and done with in about 5 mins or less.

Of course, we could always have a similar situation and have a driver with no registration, no license, no insurance t-bone you or a family member at an intersection, then you’ll be bitching that the cops aren’t doing their jobs.

Sorry, jackboot-licker, but it was harassment. They stopped him for not having his temporary tag, which they could have seen once he stopped. They could have easily told him to drive on once they saw it, but your cop hero had to show his authority and escalate nothing into getting his ass fired.

Agreed. It is called — or used to be called — police work. That broken tail light can lead you to a fugitive arrest. Which is what was about to happen in that Minneapolis suburb until the unfortunate incident with mistaking a service weapon with a taser.
