Even if by some miracle this got thru the legislature, what are the odds the DFL governor would sign it?
About 20 years ago I interviewed with a large financial services firm in Sioux Falls. The opportunity was interesting, but the location was not. I asked one interviewer about life in Sioux Falls, using the classical question: “What do people where do on weekends?” The immediate response was “Oh, there are tons of flights to the Twin Cities.”
From Article IV Section 3 U.S. Constitution:
“nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.”
There is nothing about needing the consent of the Governor.
