wardaddy: "I admire Jackson....do try to keep up....Trump before Trump...Jackson was a man...."

Then we agree, so how hard was that?
But I also argue that Jackson was not a real Democrat because:

  1. Democrats are taught as children to hate the United States, while Jackson as a child almost lost his life defending the very young United States.

  2. Democrats "talk the talk" of constitutional strict construction, but only for their opponents, never for themselves -- once in power, they don't "walk the walk".
    Jackson walked the walk... bigly.

  3. Democrats in power are spendthrifts, typically doubling the national debt they inherited, such as James Buchanan or Barack Obama.
Jackson paid off the national debt.

  4. Democrats put Americans last, in 1830 & 1860 they wanted free trade, the lowest possible tariffs to make imported goods cheapest and discourage American manufacturing.
Today Democrats want open borders to cheapen the value of citizenship and guarantee their own permanent place in political power.
Jackson put Americans first, kept tariffs high to both pay off the national debt and encourage American manufacturing.

  5. Democrats in power are oppressive, out of power they are secessionists, "states righters", sanctuary cities, sanctuary states, "resistance" and "mostly peaceful protests".
Jackson sent military force to secessionist Charleston, SC, and threatened to hang secessionists there, including Senator Calhoun.

  6. Democrats are by nature racists, "critical race theory" is their mindset and they try to hide their own racism by accusing everybody else of racism.
Jackson was a slave owner who treated his slaves unusually well.
He disliked Northern abolitionists but understood their usefulness to Southern secessionists, predicting in 1833: "On May 1, Jackson wrote, 'the tariff was only the pretext, and disunion and southern confederacy the real object.
The next pretext will be the negro, or slavery question.' "[213]"

Jackson was a unionist and in that sense, not a real Democrat.

wardaddy: "But unlike you obsessed with racism and slavery as the original sins of America and the west"

That's nonsense.
Slavery was part of the basic human condition from the very beginning.
And without slavery in 1787 there would have been no single Union, period.
So slavery was not our "original sin", but abolition was the original promise our Founders made to each other, and largely kept, gradually, until it was halted in the 1830s.

wardaddy: "I don’t give a rip
We are more noble about both than any demographic in human history so why should I care now"

Exactly right, except that racist Democrats have weaponized their own racism against the rest of us and will continue to, for so long as it wins them more votes.

wardaddy: "That you have allied with cancel culture and statue destroyers of the woke fundamental transforming Alinsky left says plenty
That you are still obsessed with all that as “Rome burns”"

That's total nonsense, typical Democrat, you're simply projecting your own feelings onto me.
I'm not "obsessed" with anything, except potentially correcting a ton of lies some people on these threads like to tell.

wardaddy: "You’re mentally ill over worrying about white misdeeds
So who are you Bro?
Some sort of Gates or Zinn or Cornel jsort just having fun here amongst the racists ?"

No, I'm not worried about "white misdeeds", that's just nonsense.
I am worried about the lies a lot of people tell hoping to cover up the real facts of history.
That's why I'm here.

As for "who am I", over many years here I've posted tons of biographical info on myself, including my home-page profile.
I am semi-retired (read: working poor), a history buff, conservative Republican patriot.

wardaddy: "Why don’t you have the balls to admit who you are?
You none of you do though I suspect some of you are Jonah Goldberg for sure under a new nom de guerre"

I used to like Jonah Goldberg, but have not followed him since he went nuts on us, never studied what really happened to him.
Indeed, I don't understand any of the rogue RINOs -- what the h*ll is their problem with putting Americans first?

wardaddy: "But the rest of you....who knows....cowards....I know one is a hospital worker in Jersey cause he lets it slip....fair enough"

The rest of those posters I never saw or heard of, but jmacusa is the New Jersey hospital worker, former Democrat and really good guy, imho, so added him to my addressee list above.

wardaddy: "So what’s your background and race
You know mine....you have any questions ask"

My background is... ah... "complicated", but my "race" is not -- one of my aunts sent her DNA to be tested and they said we are roughly 1/4 each from northern, western, eastern & southern Europe, no place else.
My Dad was Pennsylvanian, my Mom North Carolinian -- western NC, their neighbors & ancestors were Unionists, look up the Shelton Laurel Massacre, that's us, the victims.
I've lived, worked, vacationed & travelled in almost every state, have family scattered all over, including Lower, Upper & Border South states.
I don't "hate" any groups, but do oppose the lies some people tell hoping to shift blame where it doesn't necessarily belong.

This is where I've lived, worked & travelled -- pretty much all the red and even some of the blue:

Nice response - too bad that it is a wasted effort. My granddaddy taught me that it is a fools errand to try to talk someone out of a notion that he wasn’t talked into. Besides, it’s more fun to trash Rosie ;’}
