Bernie comes from a different generation of leftists. While some wanted to crush all dissent once they got control of the institutions, others actually believed in free speech and open discussion and not just as a means to an end. But it’s extremely rare to find that in younger leftists. They can’t handle any disagreement. Dissenters must die. That’s what they believe.
