Look for tomatoes with a ripening time of 75 days or less, and plant the seeds directly in the garden after frost. That way you can get tomatoes without having to start them indoors.
For most of the last 20 years, I had no way of starting seeds indoors. Everything had to be direct-seeded. It worked, and I have a shorter growing season than you do.
