The RFK Bridge is still the Triboro and the Jackie Robinson Pkwy is still the Interboro to me.
We need a sign near the bridge that asks “Is Tappan Zee another victim of “Roving Hands Cuomo”?

It really is a beautiful bridge and the river is magnificent too.
I’ve been away from the Big Town for 40 years.
Does anybody call it anything OTHER than the Tappan Zee bridge? I mean, like, does anyone on the Grand Central going to the Bronx say, “I’m crossing the RFK Bridge”? Does anybody walking West from Fifth NOT cross Sixth Avenue?

I read an article the other day, that the Mario Cuomo Bridge replaced the Tappen Zee in 2017, and is already showing signs of defects and instability.
Does the council just want to get Mario’s name off the thing before the inevitable happens?

If I were the U.S. “Benevolent Dictator” (wish I have no wish to be), I would ban any government funds for anything to be named after ANY politician of any party.
Names of things should be related to their place, or symbolic names or names of their private owners. Leave politicians out of it and you leave politics out of it.
Putting politics into it is in reality the sole purpose of naming things after politicians - it’s like a territorial political staking of a claim, for the sheeple to remember when they go to the polls.
And I depart from Idlewild Airport on Braniff tomorrow!
