We had a geriatric (extended) family member in hospice last summer with cancer that had metastasized to several organs (colon, ovary, pancreas, lymph). When my cousin finally got the death certificate back - you guessed it - cause of death: COVID.
The family was livid at the hospice. They said that the ME didn’t get that information from them as she was never tested there. As best we can tell, she was tested post-mortem, if she was tested at all.
Another story went like this: a woman went for a COVID check and was diagnosed she had it but no symptoms. She went back five times to check up to see if she still had it. She did and the clinic counted it as five separate cases not one case checked five times.
