On the heels of Dr. Seuss being muzzled for racist depictions in a few books, another beloved childhood memory is also being called problematic ... one Pepe Le Pew.
The Looney Tunes character fell into the crosshairs of NYT columnist Charles M. Blow -- who wrote an op-ed titled "Six Seuss Books Bore a Bias" ... where he argued racism is deeply embedded into American culture (especially pop culture) and fed to kids at a young age.
o that, Blow responded ... “RW blogs are mad bc I said Pepe Le Pew added to rape culture. Let’s see. 1. He grabs/kisses a girl/stranger, repeatedly, w/o consent and against her will. 2. She struggles mightily to get away from him, but he won’t release her 3. He locks a door to prevent her from escaping.” It’s true ... Penelope Pussycat was often in Pepe’s clutches.
Looney Tunes are playing inside the skulls of these clowns.
Poor Pepe. The romantic but stinky French skunk never could find a lady skunk. He kept chasing black and white cats (including Sylvester).
It’s not racism that looney liberals are against, it’s humor.
They are utterly unable to understand humor and expect everyone to be as humorless as they are.
No one gets to have fun anymore. No one.

Equating being kissed to “rape” only diminishes the seriousness of real rape cases.
How sad is that! What a nut that op-Ed is....who is he to tell anyone what THE FAMOUS Pepe La Pew. Is or is not; his opinion is his only....
Apparently the columnist doesn’t get the joke behind the character. Pepe is a French Romantic modelled after the cinema heartthrob Maurice Chevalier who unfortunately smells like a skunk and is repulsive to all females. He is undaunted by his odorous limitations and pursues females with a Frenchman’s passion. This is the essence of conflict and a fountain of great sight gags for a cartoon series.
Charles is probably upset the Robert Crumb was not available in the ‘40s so that they could make Fritz The Cat and Mr. Natural stars like Pepe LePew.

The Left, each of them are trying to outlandish the other.
If it doesn’t stop, and quick, this winds up in death one way

You know, these people are just awful, they are like some dreadful 9 year old from a storybook.
There are real people with real problems, but none of the SJW schmucks ever does anything to help anyone.
They just whine and carp and destroy, over stupid cartoons from decades ago.
I mean the thing with Dr. Seuss and the anti-Japanese cartoons from WWII, so stupid. There must have been hundreds, if not thousands of similar images around at that time. This may be interesting from a history of political cartoons, but in terms of anti-Asian ‘assault’ it really falls flat.
I mean, we nuked Japan to end the war. We dropped 2 atom bombs on that country and those people. They started it and we ended with with plenty of death and suffering on both sides.
So, if you can’t put some cartoons in the right perspective to that, I can’t help you.
Let’s see, everyone I have ever known; knows that Pepe was over the top, creepy. It’s kind of the deal there.
But idiot leftists think this is real world somehow. SMH.
