Where's the Beach? New York Times Publishes Data-Free Story About Miami's 'Rising Seas'
Newsbusters ^ | March 3, 2020 | P.J. Gladnick

The seas are certain to rise in Miami, or so says the New York Times in their story on Tuesday by Christopher Flavelle and Patricia Mazzei, "Miami Says It Can Adapt to Rising Seas. Not Everyone Is Convinced."

Could it be that "not everyone is convinced" because they have yet to see proof that the sea is actually rising? The article certainly presents no such proof. Although the story is chock full of projections of future sea level rise, the reader can not find any evidence that the sea has, well, actually risen in the past which would indicate a trend into the future. Nothing.

"Where The Boys Are" presents more evidence as to sea levels than anything presented in the FAKE NEWS New York Times fable.

When The One lists his oceanfront property for sale because the sea is encroaching on it is the first time I’ll believe any statement by this crowd.

The 305 project was supposed to prove the seas were rising but actually proved parts of S.Florida were sinking while other areas were rising...lol

I understand why they chose to write such a story, and to do it without supplying any relevant data. It is easier, and besides, if you don’t include data, facts, and statistics to support your contention, no one can dispute them!

Could it be that “not everyone is convinced” because they know Hussein Obama recently bought each front property.

When will these leftist millionaires and billionaires start selling their oceanside properties?

Time to start walking the walk!

And here is the actual sea level rise in Miami Beach, according to the official NOAA government charts:

“Relative Sea Level Trend
8723170 Miami Beach, Florida

The relative sea level trend is 2.39 millimeters/year with a 95% confidence
interval of +/- 0.43 mm/yr based on monthly mean sea level data from
1931 to 1981 which is equivalent to a change of 0.78 feet in 100 years.”

If I recall, much of Miami was built on swamp land, like New Orleans.

"Where's the Beach?"

It's just down the way from the sandy marsh (which is also called a son of a beach).

During the mid-evil maximum the temperature of the earth was 1 degree Centigrade wich is 1.7 degrees Fahrenheit above today’s average temps. This lasted for 200 years. The icecaps did not melt, but they are melting most normally with the end of the ice age and will probably continue to melt. London which is close to sea level did not drown. It will over the next few thousands of years.

Note that the mid evil maximum saw life and civilization flourish due to much increases in agriculture due to good conditions. The mid evil maximum was followed by the “little ice age.” About 1/3 of Europe died due to starvation.

Warm is good. Cold kills.

Means Soros must want some Miami beachfront property so he thought he’d drive the price down.

When I was a kid, we would take vacations in Florida. The beaches on the Atlantic side were short and were supposedly being eroded.

Later, when we visited Santa Monica, the beach seemed to be HUGE. My father told us that the east coast was losing beach and the west coast was gaining beach. I have no idea where he got this idea, or whether it is correct. But it does seem to match my observations.

Perhaps Santa Monica has something out in the ocean which tends to cause the ocean to deposit sand.

I remember an article in The New Yorker that stated as a fact that Roosevelt Island had lost acres of land area in the last 50 years.

In fact, that's a way to check the veracity of these claims of rising sea level. Pick any small island. Sanibel Island. Catalina. Plum Island. Block Island. Then put the word "shrinkage" after the name of the island, and google that phrase. Tell me what you find.

If sea levels were rising, there would be lots of stories about the shrinking land area of these islands. The phenomenon would be world-wide. There would be numerous stories about homeowners and resorts worried, selling out, asking for government relief, asking for the construction of seawalls and barriers. You tell me how many you find.

Oh look, here's one. I typed in "Martha's Vineyard Shrinkage," and actually got a hit. Here's the first paragraph of the first story that came up, published in The Vinyard back in 2013, Obama's hayday:

In the fullness of time, coastal scientists say, Martha’s Vineyard will disappear back into the ocean and new islands will form on what is now Georges Bank. It is part of a grand cycle of sediment redistribution, where land is not lost, but simply transported from one spot to another.

What heresy is this? NO MENTION AT ALL of sealevel rise. Instead, it's a "grand cycle of sediment redistribution." Who knew?

Miami Beach is really made from the bottom of Biscayne Bay which was dredged by the machines from the recently completed Panama Canal. Before the landfill, Miami Beach was basically a sandbar of watery mangroves.
