House Democrats Introduce ‘No Glory for Hate Act’ to Prevent Trump Name from Being Displayed on Federal Projects

Democrats in the House of Representatives have introduced legislation that would prevent former President Donald Trump from having his name displayed on federal projects, buildings, statues, lands, or other type of commemoration.

The bill, dubbed the “No Glory for Hate Act,” was introduced by California Democrat Rep. Linda Sanchez and has 13 cosponsors.

“A president who has been impeached twice does not deserve the honours bestowed on a former president,” Sanchez said .

The bill specifically prevents federal funds from being used to “create or display any symbol, monument, or statue commemorating any former President that has been twice impeached by the House of Representatives,” including “any highway, park, subway, Federal building, military installation, street, or other Federal property.”

The bill also prevents Trump from being buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

Sanchez recalled the events that unfolded inside the Capitol on January 6 and insisted that students should not attend a school named “in honor of a traitorous president”:

Cosponsors to the legislation include: Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Rep. Grace Napolitano (D-CA), Rep. Danny K. Davis (D-IL), Rep. André Carson (D-IN), Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX), Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), Rep. Jahana Hayes (D-CT), Rep. Rep . Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA), Rep. Alan Lowenthal (D-CA), Rep. Nikema Williams (D-GA), and Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA).

Certainly there’s no way that this could backfire on them.

Say for instance, it passes. Miraculously, Joe Biden lives until 2023. In 2022, new blood Republicans take the house by a decent margin and the Senate by a slim one (Unimportant, but we’ll do it).

The first thing they do is impeach Joe. Senate acquits. Joe resigns (Health reasons) and they impeach him again. The precedent is there now. Senate acquits again, but he’s now impeached twice.

Harris takes over. Is impeached, and acquitted twice. Now “The first female president” can’t be commemorated.

I never once heard ANY hate from President Trump. He wanted every citizen from every station and every background in the USA to succeed, just like Rush did.

What is WRONG with these people — other than demonic possession?

Do they think we didn’t despise Obama with the burning heat of a thousand suns? Why do they think it’s OK to bully, persecute, and torment someone just because they don’t like him?

I didn’t despise Obama in that manner, but I hated what he did. I sure would not want to be in Obama’s shoes when he has to face God, bad enough my own sins.

Sánchez was born on January 28, 1969, in Orange, California.[3] She grew up with six siblings, raised by Mexican immigrant parents in Anaheim, where she attended Valencia High School.[4] She earned her BA in Spanish[citation needed] in 1991 at the University of California, Berkeley, and her Juris Doctor degree in 1995 at the UCLA School of Law,[3] where she was an editor of the Chicano-Latino Law Review.[5]

Sánchez was an attorney specializing in labor law prior to her public service career. In 1998, she joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 441 and became a compliance officer.[6] From 2000 to 2002, she was executive secretary and treasurer of the Orange County branch of the AFL-CIO.

Does anyone remember an ex post facto law? A bill of attainder? As this bill is both, it is practically a slur on our Constitution.

The tree must be watered....

“Bills of attainder . . . are such special acts of the legislature, as inflict capital punishments upon persons supposed to be guilty of high offences, such as treason and felony, without any conviction in the ordinary course of judicial proceedings. If an act inflicts a milder degree of punishment than death, it is called a bill of pains and penalties. . . . In such cases, the legislature assumes judicial magistracy, pronouncing upon the guilt of the party without any of the common forms and guards of trial, and satisfying itself with proofs, when such proofs are within its reach, whether they are conformable to the rules of evidence, or not. In short, in all such cases, the legislature exercises the highest power of sovereignty, and what may be properly deemed an irresponsible despotic discretion, being governed solely by what it deems political necessity or expediency, and too often under the influence of unreasonable fears, or unfounded suspicions.”1910 The phrase “bill of attainder,” as used in this clause and in clause 1 of § 10, applies to bills of pains and penalties as well as to the traditional bills of attainder.1911

The prohibition embodied in this clause is not to be narrowly construed in the context of traditional forms but is to be interpreted in accordance with the designs of the framers so as to preclude trial by legislature, which would violate the separation of powers.1912

So you put her history in California in there from what appears to be wiki. What does that have to do with party attacks on Trump. I’ll ask you the same question: how can they say just because a socialist controlled house can impeach someone for anything they appear to want to, does it mean anything about the person being impeached? There are 435 representatives in the house that determined the second impeachment. 222 democrats, along with 10 republicans, voted yes, and 197 republicans voted no with four not voting. So if the republicans had gotten the 14 others, they still would have lost on that vote. Party affiliation as no democrats voted no. In California the people wishing to recall Newsome got the 1.5 million signatures and were still going at an additional 400 thousand. Does that mean he’s guilty of something? I think he is, but it isn’t proven. Nothing has been proved with Trump, they couldn’t keep him from running for office, so what is he guilty of?

It is the same playbook the libs/socialists have been using for about 50 years. It’s called Saul Alinsky’s rules for radicals. And the main plays are:

Dems fight to get their point across
They try to stop the conservative points from coming out
They terminate, deflect, or move away with the discussion when they have to defend their points
They try to smear the messenger

I’ve seen this happen in the public venue anmd personally for my whole life. But, always remember, conservatives have opponents...liberals have enemies.

We will end up in a hot war at some point. The real question is which side will our military personnel side on? If the Obama arm chair generals get a hold of the military they will blast us with our taxpayer funded advanced weapons. I have no doubt they would have no problem with drones or artillery killing conservatives. You heard it here first

Gee, if President Trump gets impeached one more time he's free and clear.
