I remember the inflation of the seventies and eighties until Reagan got it under control. Mortgages were rising to above 15% interest, gas was rationed and life became very difficult for many. Economists says they see signs of it happening again very soon. If the minimum wage is tied to inflation, will it then go back down once inflation gets under control again under President Trump’s second term? Thought not. Don’t forget also that a whole lot of union wages are tied to the minimum wage also so raises galore for them too.

How about we stop the illegal immigration? Then we won’t have to worry about illegals taking jobs that belong to Americans.

I believe no illegal is allowed to work in this country since al least the Simpson-Mazzoli bill in 1980ties.

Yep. I thought it was already illegal to hire illegal aliens.

Unfortunately, as I understand, it is illegal only at the federal level and with those states that have chosen to adopt e-Verify.

Biden's anti-MAGA crew most likely examined the question of whether and to what extent his EO's on immigration would run afoul of federal statutes. The question might warrant further inquiry but, of course, that would require an effective political party in opposition.

Most states have their own minimum age, a federal wage is not necessary. Wages were rising on their own when the unemployment numbers were so low. Keep illegals out, wages rise.

"Where in the constitution " ?

The general welfare clause. Biggest mistake ever. That said, providing for the general welfare used to mean something entirely different at the time.

The Romney name should be a poison pill for any legislation.

The minimum wage is not a conservative issue.

Cotton is a corporatist war whore, not a conservative. Won’t vote for him.
