Clever strategy, but the Democrats think they can get away with anything because we have big oceans to the east and west and weak neighbors to the north and south.

If Rats are going to follow the science to restore the northwest salmon runs, that would probably involve destroying dams in Alabama also . . . . can’t attach sarcasm to criticism of Rats these days because they will say or do ANYTHING, no matter how absurd!!!!!!

"efforts to recover the Northwest’s iconic salmon runs"
Most of these dams have been in place for decades, but the problem with the salmon runs is recent, within the past ten years. This topic came up a couple of years ago, and I think the problem with the dwindling salmon runs is that their natural predators (Orca whales, sea lions) are protected, so they are eating more of the salmon than they used to.
To: Twotone
A crappy idea. Dams provide water supply, flood control and electrical power generation. Iconic salmon runs are a poor trade-off for what will be lost. The supporters a lefty Democrat Senators. I'm all the more disappointed because this guy is my congressional rep. We have tried running a more conservative challenger to no avail.

A state that actually has a dam called Little Goose deserves no sympathy.
Although there is a highway called Big Beaver in Troy, Michigan.
Maybe silly animal names can replace the white supremacist Washington and Jefferson types.

In old America, we used commando raids, and British bombers to destroy the damns of the enemy. You know, to harm their economy.
Now our politicians do it for us, to our own dams.
By the way, is China tearing down dams, or building them?

How stupid can somebody get? You can always have small salmon runs that go around the dams themselves.
I would say, I swear to God, but that’s a sin, so I’ll just leave with the notion that this guy cannot be taken seriously as an environmentalist. If he also is interested in “clean” power and slowing down carbon farts, nuclear and HYDRO must be part of that mix, or else it is unworkable.
In this particular tale of GOP and Democrats, the man and the dog are working together.
PING!

“$33 billion Project”
Heck, the U.S. Airforce could do it for, $2 million tops.

Part of the plan requires environmental groups pledging not to use lawsuits over federal environmental-protection laws violations.Of course, Mr. Simpson-Idiot could promote "loser pays" in the federal courts instead, but that would make to much sense.
And you should be able to sue if a federal enviro-law was genuinely violated, period.
