I understand the way Gaslighting is used today.
I recall watching that old movie it came from.
But I never use it. One has to connect too many “dots” before it makes any sense. There are more direct ways to say the same thing.
But, that’s just me. Go ahead....You can say “Okay Boomer!”
I won’t mind.
Have you ever been “gaslit”?
First there’s the agony of going through what’s being done to you.
Second, there’s the shock of realizing what has just been done to you.
Some never get to the second step. They live their lives in the first, grow old and die.
It’s worth it to require those who’ve never been gaslit to do a little homework.
Those who have been gaslit can grasp the concept. The cryptic nature of the term attracts attention to the problem. Net-net, it’s a useful term and should be accepted.
