On January 6, 2021, pursuant to the 12th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, the Vice President of the United States, the House of Representatives, and the Senate met at the United States Capitol for a Joint Session of Congress to count the votes of the Electoral College. In the months preceding the Joint Session, President Trump repeatedly issued false statements asserting that the Presidential election results were the product of widespread fraud and should not be accepted by the American people or certified by State or Federal officials. Shortly before the Joint Session commenced, President Trump, addressed a crowd at the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. There, he reiterated false claims that "we won this election, and we won it by a landslide." He also willfully made statements that, in context, encouraged — and foreseeably resulted in — lawless action at the Capitol, such as: "if you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore." Thus incited by President Trump, members of the crowd he had addressed, in an attempt to, among other objectives, interfere with the Joint Session's solemn constitutional duty to certify the results of the 2020 Presidential election, unlawfully breached and vandalized the Capitol, injured and killed law enforcement personnel, menaced Members of Congress, the Vice President, and Congressional personnel, and engaged in other violent, deadly, destructive and seditious acts.
I hope Ashli Babbitt’s family sues to find the identity of ashli’s killer. The video montage the House Managers showed a hand and a gun pointed at the door. On the other side of the door a person fell down. I don’t know if that was Ashli Babbitt or not. It’s interesting the video didn’t show the face of the shooter.

How many USCP are under invest for directly aiding and abetting? I believe it was approaching 2 dozen last time i checked. There is a way to parse this to appreciate their service, and parse this to refute this as a Trump-inspired occupation, AND most importantly parse this to remind those Democrat snowflakes if USCP officers are involved and being investigated, then L O L.
The Trump defense team should put that up for all to see.
It’s my understanding that Mitch agreed to these asinine rules, so it seems way too many Republicans don’t give a darn about any sense of fairness.

If he brings up election fraud he’s probably been told that squished like Portman would vote to convict even though he has hundreds of sworn affidavits stating that irregularities happened that’s your government at work
The argument is based on “INTENT”.
In criminal law, intent is a subjective state of mind that must accompany the acts of certain crimes to constitute a violation. A more formal, generally synonymous legal term is scienter: intent or knowledge of wrongdoing.

I don’t think it’s “probably”. I’ve heard that’s exactly what he’s been told. So he can be browbeaten until the cows come home, but can’t say even one word to defend himself.

Since intent is a mental state, it is one of the most difficult things to prove. There is rarely any direct evidence of a defendant’s intent, as nearly no one who commits a crime willingly admits it. To prove criminal intent, one must rely on circumstantial evidence.
I was going to watch it but I set that time aside to count how many bird seeds I have left in a semi full 10 lb bag.
