Yes, Influenza is not having much luck spreading this year, at least so far. Flu season can peak as late as March.
The big problem for Influenza is that it spread similar to how SARS-CoV-2 spreads, but the R0 for flu is ~1-1.3 and the R0 for COVID-19 is 4.3-5.7 (latest variants). So the measures being taken to combat COVID-19 transmission (e.g. masks while indoors in public places, social distancing) will have a much more pronounced impact on Influenza. The flu isn’t getting much opportunity to spread this year. That’s a good thing since it accounts for an average of 36,000 deaths each year.

I use the VA, too. I refused both of the shots. I have very, VERY minor issues compared to the Vets who REALLY need the care and attention.
Luckily, with the ‘plague’ I’ve had a convenient excuse to not visit in person. Just had one phone call with a Nurse Practitioner. She was cool with my take on things; you guys worry about your critical patients; I’ll muddle through!

Officially its the flu. “I have a PhD in virology and immunology. I’m a clinical lab scientist and have tested 1500 “supposed” positive Covid 19 samples collected here in S. California. When my lab team and I did the testing through Koch’s postulates and observation under a SEM (scanning electron microscope), we found NO Covid in any of the 1500 samples. What we found was that all of the 1500 samples were mostly Influenza A and some were influenza B, but not a single case of Covid, and we did not use the B.S. PCR test. We then sent the remainder of the samples to Stanford, Cornell, and a few of the University of California labs and they found the same results as we did, NO COVID. They found influenza A and B. All of us then spoke to the CDC and asked for viable samples of COVID, which CDC said they could not provide as they did not have any samples. “We have now come to the firm conclusion through all our research and lab work, that the COVID 19 was imaginary and fictitious. The flu was called Covid and most of the 225,000 dead were dead through co-morbidities such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, emphysema etc. and they then got the flu which further weakened their immune system and they died. With as bad as Covid is supposed to be all over the place, how come no one in any lab world wide has ever isolated and purified this virus in its entirety? That’s because they’ve never really found the virus, all they’ve ever found was small pieces of RNA which were never identified as the virus anyway. “So what we’re dealing with is just another flu strain like every year, COVID 19 does not exist and is fictitious. I believe China and the globalists orchestrated this COVID hoax (the flu disguised as a novel virus) to bring in global tyranny and a worldwide police totalitarian surveillance state, and this plot included massive election fraud.”

It was originally posted by a self-described non-Phd person who made it up and watched it spread. Later it was attributed to someone with credibility so that it would lend credibility to it and spread widely. This person it was misattributed to did not write this and came forcefully out against it. Now we see it here again.
It has been isolated and many full genome sequences of different strains, of which there are far more than the few the MSM chooses to focus on. They were sequenced by researchers in many different countries. The 37 or 40 base pair line is false.
A worldwide conspiracy of covid actually being influenza is a lot more difficult to believe than that there has been an actual covid pandemic over the past year thanks exclusively to China. And that where it emerged in China was coincidentally the only high-security level lab in China that was also studying coronaviruses. And that China has a history of lab releases, including the original SARS.
A worldwide conspiracy to fake covid entirely with influenza strains would require massive coordination among countries that would not get onboard involving a huge number of people. It’s China. China is to blame here. By including every other country as part of the plot in this conspiracy theory, it minimizes China’s role which benefits China.

Genome size of SARS-CoV-2 is 29,903 bases. Each SARS-CoV-2 virion is 50–200 nanometres in diameter. Genome size for Influenza viruses is 10,000–14,600 bases. In other words, 1/3 to 1/2 the genome length, depending on the strain. They’re 80-120nm in diameter.
Influena and SARS-CoV-2 aren’t even in the same phylum. They’re as closely related as human beings and snails. The chances of confusing the two are exactly zero.
