"There May Be No Choice but to Nationalize Oil and Gas — and Renewables, Too"
Jacobin Mag ^ | Sean Sweeney

Once on the margin of the margins, calls for the nationalization of US fossil fuel interests are growing. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the basic argument was this: nationalization could expedite the phasing out of fossil fuels in order to reach climate targets while ensuring a “just transition” for workers in coal, oil, and gas. Nationalization would also remove the toxic political influence of “Big Oil” and other large fossil fuel corporations. The legal architecture for nationalization exists — principally via “eminent domain” — and should be used.

But the case for nationalization has gotten stronger in recent months.

This was published on August 31, 2020. I can see the Biden administration using both its climate change goals and COVID as justification for nationalizing the energy sectors.

Venezuela was just not as smart as our leaders who will implement it better.

Just ask AOC. She is smarter than you, me, and everyone else.

I swear, the left would believe they could find a better way to cheat with their wives sister. Sure, it ended disastrously for everyone else who tried it, but they simply were not as smart as the left.

Ok this BS needs to stop.

“We haz to own the oil coz o climate change”

No - that’s BS and will lead to the destruction of America just like Venezuela.

You only need to see what Obama’s nationalization of student loans did the America in less than 4 YEARS - “we haz to bail them out”

This would be fascism:

“100 percent government buyout of the entire sector would cost $700 billion, and a 51 percent stake in each of the major companies would, of course, be considerably less.”

The left never thinks that what they’re doing is wrong. It just hasn’t been done by the right people and/or they just haven’t been allowed to do enough of it.

How bizarre is this.

Venezuela has some.of the largest oil reserves in the world, but they are out of gas.

Zimbabwe at one time had some of the most productive farmland in Africa, but now depends on charity from other countries to prevent starvation.

Sometimes situations occur which seem like contradictions in terms.

Sadly, a Dictatorship of the Proletariat and full nationalization of all resources must be enacted immediately. It’s not like the Democrats want to do this, you understand. It’s just that Orange Man So Bad that they really have no choice. The media agrees.

America at one time was one of the richest nations in the world, but now...

Yes. No holds barred fascism.

The supposed “calls for the nationalization” are Schiff calling Schumer calling AOC calling Bernie and then Biden.
Followed by the verbatim phrases by each leftist news media TV panelist. Plus school teachers, professors and politicians.

During a recession the leftist New York Magazine had a doctored cover photo of breadlines leading into a McDonald’s with the cover story inside “Time For the Nationalization of McDonald’s.”
